Newbie needs help

Hey guys long time smoker first time grower. There's definitely been a learning curve and I've tried to do as much research as possible in between work and everything else. I started with 18 plants and all died but 4. 3 turned out to be male so I got them out before they could bust their pollen. But my 4th got root bound and the leaves started to die so I pruned it and transferred it and it has still has not budded one way or the other after 4 weeks. Should I switch back to 24 to heal it and grow it back up a bit or should I just leave it alone. Attached is a photo of all 4 and a photo of the only one left. image.jpeg image.jpeg

Okay I thought that was the case just to get it back to where it was before being root bound I had no problems with the damn males as you can tell they had plenty of nice strong stalks and tops but this one is just killing me. Would it be faster to start over or switch over to the 18/6?

How old is the female? Also what type of lights u using? Watts and spectrum? What type of soil? How many gallons? Ph? Rt/rh? Watering and feeding schedules? The more info u give the more help you'll get. Also is that aluminum foil? If so that doesn't help. GL

Well I don't know that it's is a female that's the thing. The males budded just fine. And I know about aluminum foil causing hot spots but I'm sort of on the college ramen budget so I was trying to do whatever I could to create more light. I was getting ready to replace it so it was flat and it would be smoothed out (another tip from the same friend) so I have 5 CFLs in there two soft white and 3 daylight so total it's about 5000 lumens as for the soil I'm using natures cure organic potting mix with water conserve. (Trust me it took me forever to learn how to not overwater and I'm still learning). As far as ph goes, my friend who also grows told me tap water that sets for up to 3 days neutralizes it to make it okay. I've done no nutrients because when I first started I got nute burn very badly. The ingredients of the soil will be attached in a photo. Thank you so much for your help again. This is also bag seed so I have no idea the strain. image.jpg

I know I'm a total newb at this so if I'm doing anything super stupid don't be afraid to tell me. I'd rather know now then fuck up and end up with hollow buds or something like that. Thanks again :)

The plant was in veg from mid sept. til the start of November and then I switched them all to 12/12

That soil is pretty hot (nutrients). Next time use something like Black Gold Natural & Organic, or MiracleGro Organic Choice if you're on a budget, or can't find the other. (Either one, add 30-40% perlite for drainage.). This will let you be more in control of feeding.

You've been on 12/12 since early November? Are you maintaining total darkness, or does the plant sit in the corner and catch ambient light?

I think I'd cashier it, start over if it's not flowering after 6 weeks.

That's what I was afraid of :/ but I have the lighting set up so that it's nighttime when the lights go off so they don't catch any natural light or lights from the house. Okay well when I get paid next I'll go get the new soil and perlite. I'll guess I'll go ahead and switch back and start some new seeds see what happens with it. If need be I can make a new grow box to separate out this one from the new ones. Thanks for the help. So what about ph and any extra nutrients? Sorry I'm asking so many questions, I'm just tired of spending money on something that I could grow personally. Also are seed banks really safe? I'd love to get some feminized seed or some auto flowering. It's a learning process I guess. Next grow will always be better :)

It's easy to grow. Take a look at how I do it. It go a little more "deluxe" than you may want to, but there is a link right after the soil part which shows you how to do MiracleGro using the same soil. $6 for nutrients. Look the footnote at the bottom for photos of the soil so you can recreate that texture if you don't use the soil components I do.

However, I'm concerned that your "lights out" setup isn't good enough. I doubt it's random chance that this plant didn't flower after 6 weeks of 12/12. I think you need to make something to keep it dark (but also provide ventilation). Whether you spend $100 on a tent, or build something with wood. It really has to be dark. No light from room windows, street lights, etc.

I don't ph. But, you might benefit from a TDS/PPM pen. As long as you don't go crazy with lots of bottles of nutrients, don't over feed, you should be ok not ph'ing in soil.

Agreed, i think at least after 6 weeks doing 12/12 u should have buds well developed, an average after switching light schedule u should see preflowers like in 5-14 days.
