I use 3" cow pots with the organic mix in the pots I use in my big pots but there are many choices out there. Pro's and con's for each it's up to you.
You need to check with Jasonkanz and ask him, remember he has done this before.

Does the powerstrip with the cfls move? I think you will want them as close as possible to avoid stretching. Maybe another fan inside just for the plant. you can get the cfls real close if you have another pc fan on them. This will avoid stretching. Just a thought. I think I may build something similar now just for veg and cut my time by a month. Looks promising.

i plan on just sitting the plants on top of something to get them closer instead of moving the whole powerstrip

check the grow link in my sig. Yeah, its hydro, so it doesnt really apply to your parameters, but I KNOW you will need to increase the amount of lighting in there if you plan on getting any bud at all.

we're moving into the warmer months, I assume you run A/C in your living area. what I would suggest is to cut a vent hole in the bottom of the rubbermaid and sit it on top of your AC vent, this will help keep the temp downs so you can Increase the number of lights to at least 4 23 watt cfls. I would use the blue CFLs for at least the first 3 weeks, that will help tame some of the killer stretch you are about to experience with 12/12 from seed + limited light. First grow + limitations I'd say .25 grams per actual watt (.25 x 46 watts). If you get more light in there AND take care of the heat they produce, you'll see that number rise drastically.

thank you everyone for your help...but im going to quit trying. it would of been fun to try but this is just way too much work for 1 plant. you guys did have great ideas though...it just isnt worth all the work for a few grams. good luck to you all,im out, peace
