Newbie transplant question: Rockwool seedling to coco

Hi All,

I'm a new grower with a bubbleponics system and I have 2 newly sprouted seedings in rockwool in the netcups. I'd like to take one of the seedlings and grow it in pot of coco coir and perlite, while leaving the other in the BP. What's the best way to do this? Can I just dig a small hole big enough for the rockwool cube and plant both in the coco, or do I have to remove the seedling from the rockwool? Also, how long should I wait before planting? the seedling is about 10 days from germination and about 1.5" tall. I can't see any roots coming trough the rockwool yet.

Is it still too young to use any nutes? I've read that it's ok to start with light nutes in the 2nd week, but some say to wait until the 4th week. I will be using GH flora series.

Thanks in advance.

In rock wool (when I use it) I feed straight away.

When transferring your seedling from RW to coco just make sure the seedling has a good amount of roots coming out of the RW before you place it in coco.

Coco is similar to soil in that it will quickly wick the water out of your RW cube.

I also feed coco straight away.

I agree with jondamon, been using rockwool for years and that's how I always did it with no problems, be crazy to try and remove the seedling from the rw, you def would ruin the roots.
