Newbie trying out 38 plants

Hi fellas,
It's my first time growing and im starting off with 38 plants, they've been growing for a week now from seeds and I have them under a 600 watt hps light at around 1 meter away, any ideas if light is to much for them and how far I should keep it away?.

It's a good start at a distance if you have. If your plants start to stretch you will have to lower your light. If they are not stretching I'm growing at a decent pace you'll just have to adjust as they get taller to match the canopy. If they start to show kind of burn marks on the ends of the leaves you will need to raise your light higher. Try posting a few pics of your grow. Cheers!

My personal opinion I would lower it down to 18" to 20" . Please keep in mind you also have to account the width your light covers at set Heights. For instance my 600W LED at 36" projects a footprint of 4 ft wide. Hope the info helps.

Thanks for the info bro, I'm feeding them canna coco a and b and also canna rhizotonic for the roots to form, I hope I haven't started feeding to early, I gave them there first feed at 7 days old

That's pretty early to feed them, I usually wait for the first set of fan leaves to feed. But I use Advanced Nutrients I'm not familiar with Canna Coco. Just be careful with your newts

Yes true, I'll probably wait another week before there next feeding, they should be ready by then, you should check out the canna range there quite good, all my buddies use it and they get very nice end product

What size room or tent, at what week of veg are you going to turn them. What is the strain? Lots to consider on spacing and size and how much, or how you will control stretch if the strain has any Sativa parents. I have 3 plants right now and they would fill an 8x8 tent and I would worry about heat and humidity. Bugs and mold come with that. I’m Sure more info and a plan would help members answer your questions better.

I hope u have another room u plan on putting those in? U cant grow that many plants, unless kept VERY small, under 1 light.

I've setup in a 20sqm room, strain is sweet zombie mostly and a coupe of California Orange, mold I'm not to worried about I got a 12kw aircon, quest air circulator, 12inch exhaust fan, 8inch fan bringing air from outside and 3 42inch circulating fans it's a beautiful breeze in there when it's all on, if they do stretch out I'll just lower the lights and when repotting them I'll burry them a little deeper to cover the long stem, but so far they are looking amazing

How much (and what type of source) light will you have in those 20 square meters?
~edit~ you anticipated me. I would get MH conversion bulbs for veg, like the Ushio bulbs.

I was going to inform you that I was growing 1 plant under my 600 HPS. Glad to see you have more lights on standby. I was getting nervous you were about to have a wattz shortage. Last thing we need is another crisis.
