Newbie w/ First indoor CFL Grow..Week 1 of flowering of White Widow

Hello Rollitup,

Well I am new to site. I have actually been delaying joining and spending most of my time just educating from all the knowledge on this site. Really love the vibes here as well.

A Little About Me. I am currently a Organic Chemistry Major at Cornell University, and have been really inspired to start growing my own cannabis. What started out as a trial and errorr mission, ended up me teaching myself how to grow fairly well ( well at least I think so)

Currently, I am growing 1 White Widow Femenized(Flying Dutchman) seed from Attitude Seed Bank.
Soil: Fox Farms Ocean Forest
Fertilizers : Fox Farms Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom, Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz, and finally Cha Ching.

Lights : 1 250watt (2700k) CFL, 2 46watt( 2700k),1 23 watt ( 2700k)
3 23 watt (6500k)...Just to attempt to give a wider spectrum of light.

I am also using a jimmy rigged homemade Co2 system. I have plant in a 5 gallon bucket with great drainage holes. I also have it inside my CLOSET inside my room. I have fans circulating air from outside of closet. Reason is because the external fans bring in tons of fresh air from the outdoors.

The only thing I can say I am worried about is lighting. Due to having to bring in fresh air from outside of the closet, I am unable to create a "sealed lighting environment". I leave my closet door ( sliding doors) open 24/7. When it comes for dark period, my entire room is actually completely light proofed. No light leaks at all, and I am still able to bring in fresh air 24/7.

CO2 varies from about 800-1400ppm, but never higher than 1400ppm.

I vegged her for 35 days and she is exactly one week into 12/12. She has shown females sex all over the place, and is officially in bloom(flowering).

I have also put up reflective white polyplastic that I picked up at my local hydro shop.

I have also "topped" her many times along the way. She has a bunch of tops. Certianly gonna have many colas I pray.

In the pics, I tried my best to show my setup. I made a neat bong in Chemistry class yesterday and thought I would include it with my fertilizer pic. See, school is fun :)

Plant is currently about 26-27 inches tall, and is about 1-2 inches away from top 250 watt cfl. Plant was vegged under T5 Fluros.

I appreciate and welcome all feedback and any comments. Recommendations are also welcomed.

Your plant looks great! How much height do you have available for it to grow? I ask because I have a feeling she's going to try and escape through the roof! 5 gal bucket, good soil, decent light coverage, multiple toppings, and a ton of monster making ferts... Your only one week into flowering, so very soon it's going to try and take off.

Very impressive for a first grow, It seems you know how to do your research...I see nothing wrong with your setup and that is a huge accomplishment for a first timer!!!

Thank you both for your compliments. I have spent about three months obtaining as much information and advice as possible. Like most other things in life, research can prove to be very beneficial.

TO awnser ID10Terror question, I have about 29 inches( vertically) more for grow space before I will have to possibly start tying things down. I may actually do that before it gets close to those 29inches. I shot her up last night with a strong dose of ferts and she went coco crisp crazy. Growth is just exsplosively rampant. She is really taking off, as predicted by myself as well as ID10Terror.Just finished up using Opean Seasame. She will now be getting beastie bloom, tiger bloom and big bloom for about the next three weeks of feedings.

I am kinda saddened to see that 85 people viewed my thread, but only two left comments/feedback. Not sure what to think of that. I checked on my thread yesterday after all my classes and there had been 66 views, and not a single post, so I do greatly appreciate the comments you both have left.

Is fox farm used for making monsters? I was actually hoping to get this plant to produce some budz...maybe I should give harry potter a call, I am sure he will be interested in Monster Fertilizers :)

Once again, thanks guys. I will update in about 3-4 days.

Ideally i think you're supposed to start LST before flowering, something to consider on your next grow. Oh and don't worry about the View:Post ratio, it happens. But your girl is lookin real nice, can't wait to see some big buds. good luck man

Thanks for the comments. I was actually debating whether or not I would need to do LST. It just recently has started some real rampant and vigorous growth that may put me in a little bit of a space issue. I think for saftey I am going to start some lst before it is to late. Once again, thanks.

No problem man, don't worry bout' the post/view ratio...I've seen worse....
haha...Foxfarm nutes work really good, and can produce monster buds, like ID10Terror said...but if I had the money, I would go with the Advanced Nutrients Sensi 2 part, along with a lot of their additives!

Thanks for the reply Smokes Like Marley :) I can say that the only two reason I did go with Fox Farms was the application of one " All natural " ( No such thing as a ALL ORGANIC Fertilizer) Fertilizer ( Big Bloom). But most importantly, it was the price. Advanced Nutrients just seems to be so stupidly priced. I happen to have a great wealth of knowledge of Fertilizers and the actual marketing of them. While I am sure Advanced is a great product, You can only achieve so much greatness when it comes to the formulation ( Chemically speaking) of a Fertilizer. For the price differences within the Fertilizers, I had concluded that it cant be that much better, especially considering the cost difference. Another thing that caught me as a little odd is the amount of marketing and sales pitch ploys that advanced utilizes....Just got the vibe that I was buying a Name and Not a Product.

Once again, thanks for the Information and Comments. I welcome more. Should have an update in another 2-3 days. Peace.

I know it is not always feasible, but I just want to know if anyone has any predictions as far as yield goes?

Dont worry bout views vs posts. I've been poking my nose into many topics without posting. And some of my posts were better left unsaid ;)

As far as LST goes.. It doesnt look like you have much width to your area as well.. hmmm.. Your into flowering so a "corkscrew" of the main stem might not work very well. But you could tie the branches into a pinwheel around the main stem. You have good side lighting so the side branches wouldnt suffer from that. ***< peers at the 1st pic >*** You could get away with a pinweel style LST from all the topping you've done with good effect. You could gain a lot of "volume" to your growth that way. Maybe pick up one of those "tomato" plant wire cages to both tie the branches with and use as cylindrical "scrog" to help train that beast.

I feel what you're saying, those nutes can empty your wallet really quick! Fuckin' really expensive, especially where I'm at, even the Foxfarm 1lb. Soluble trio cost $105 bucks at my local hydro store, I won't even mention the cost of Advanced over here! Gets kind of ridiculous!
And it's nearly impossible to estimate yeild at this point in the plants life, but with everything you have and done...I would say you can easily pull a couple O's!!!

Thanks for the Advice, I really do appreciate it. My plan of attack was to actually attempt a pinwheel. I am actually working with plenty of room side to side, its the top to bottom that I am still a little concerned about. I complete respect the idea of not posting a comment. Sometimes, somethings, are always said best unsaid :)

I can certianly relate to that. I paid 115 for the trio after tax, and 80 bucks for the Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom. Even to start touching advanced I was looking at 315 as a starting price. It was just stupidly exspensive. Than to add additives to that list, it was just way beyond my budget of cost friendly :) Thanks for the estimate. I do hope to pull at least 2 zips. Anything over that exceeds my goal :)

Great set up. I would not worry about FF Big Bloom making her stretch, never happened to me. It's just re giving to the used fertilizer in a organic way. Keep your fans on 24/7 and that will keep shorter node growth, also keep giving veg nutes for first 2-3 weeks, that also will help keep her low, and she will only take up whats she wants.
