I like to help the noobies out, but I get too lazy to look for unanswered posts. If you have a question pertinent to growing marijuana, ask away and I'll do my best to answer it for you!

If someone knows the answer to a question and sees it before me, feel free to jump in and answer it!

Is this being caused by bugs?
 
I've heard people say you need 6 CFLs per plant. Does this mean I need 6 for vegging and 6 for flowering?
Of course I'm sure that depends on the wattage, biggest one they have at my Wal-Mart is 42w, second is 26w.

But my Wal-Mart only has the 42's in one type of Kelvin, is this really important to the budding/vegg process? Could I get away with just using one type of Kelvin?

And yeah, in your opinion how many plants could you do OK with a 120w HPS light, I'm guessing 1 - 2 plants right?

6cfl's per plant is a generalization. It really comes down to a very simple formula.

More light = more weed.

The 6 cfl generalization is a figure used for flowering the plant- a plant can be vegged under a lot less light than flowering. 6 CFL's is basically a minimum for flowering any decent sized plant.

As far as the kelvin rating- a higher kelvin rating is ideal for vegetative growth, as the plants require more blue spectrum during this time. This does not mean that you cannot grow without blue cfl's. The orange ones (2700k-3000k) will work just fine for vegging, and theyll work best for flowering. Flowering is what is most important. If you can only have ideal conditions for either veg or flower, and not both, set your room up for flowering. Vegging is the easiest part of growing pot, and ideal conditions for flowering will have a greater effect than ideal veg conditions (throughout the grow that is). But in a nutshell- yes, you can use only one specrum.

I was not aware that they made 120w HPS's. I am currently using two 150w HPS's for flowering, and 1 250w metal halide for veg. Ive seen people put as many as 5 plants under one 150w HPS, but my flower room only seats 5, and ive got double that light. I'd say 5 is about the max for one 150w light, but 2-3 would be more ideal. Ill say it once more- Mo' light, Mo' weed! :weed:

Yeah, I was reading his other thread. Looks like the plant has seen temps as low as 36*F.

That'll do it.

Bugs or not, if the plant is being exposed to near freezing temperatures, spider mites would be it's last concern. I'd place a large rubbermaid trash can over the plant on nights that its supposed to get bitter cold, or move the plant inside if possible (unless you have other indoor plants.)
 
yo senor what u think would happen if u put some good tea on bottem of pot of soil of your plant will it effect it in flower stage......


also what about using carrot juice does it help in anyway??
 
Looks female, if anything, but I cant tell for sure. I dont see any balls, but it could just not be showing sex yet. A closer or high res picture would help. Do you see any white hairs?

Plants need Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium. Not carrot juice or tea. While there may be some things in there that would be beneficial to plant growth (what exactly, i havent a clue), there are much more effective ways of feeding a plant what it needs. Plant food and fertilizers are the most common, but if you want to add a household item, try 1 teaspoon of molasses per gallon of water during flowering.
 
hi Senor. I want to use a 400w hps for my aerosystem im making. Do I need a cooltube, or will I be fine with intake and exhaust fans in my growbox.
 
well im not doing it to feed it like that im doing it for flavor the tea for flavor


and carrot juice do anything to the hairs or smell??

SS . . . I could be wrong, but 40 years say's "look again". I could be wrong. Some plants are quite tricky.

Depends on the size of your box. As long as youre moving enough air for the size of your box, you should be okay. Generally speaking, the smaller your box, the hotter it will get. The more area you have inside the box to dissipate heat, the cooler it will stay. A small box will need more air moving through it to keep a stable and acceptable temperature.

To be honest, ive never heard of using either of those products on pot plants. If you want to try it, go for it. Let us know how it goes.

Perhaps. Its a low quality picture, its kinda hard to tell one way or another.
 
Ok I got some questions. Looking to buy lights and I can only find where to buy bulbs but can't find where to buy fixtures. Do you have any recommended places online???? Also is there a walk through video of how to really make your grow room.
 
Alright. I planted this plant like a month ago in late december. I wasnt expecting it to do anything cause of the cold but it made it through. Its about 6 inches now And the tops looks like its flowering.

I already posted a thread bout it and they said it would grow shorter cause of it.

I was wondering is it even gonna be big enough to get anything from it?
