Can anyone tell me what could be wrong with this plant? And is it savable?

My friend gave it to me, said it's a clone from a 12 week old plant but it started wilting and the leaves are turning brown. So he said I could have it if I can save it.

He just had it in dirt from outside, and he said he didn't fertilize it or anything, just watered it. So I replanted it in soil and stuck it under my grow lights. Anything I can do to give this plant a better chance at making it?

My camera is a million years old with no focus, so it's the best i can do right now. I can borrow a camera from someone if better pictures are needed.

Thanks in advance!

I'd try raising the humidity a bit more. Treat it like its still a clone, but give it lots of light. Hope for the best..

what am i doing wrong? my leaves ar yellowing at the tips and starting to curl...any advice?
20 bucks says youre using miracle grow, or another soil with nutes in it. Try flushing them, but it may not help. You need a soil that doesnt contain nutrients because the nutes in MG can kill a seedling.

When the plant breaks through the soil, aka sprouts, it is in seedling stage. The transisiton from seedling to vegetative is somewhat hazy, but I'd say once the plant has 2 or 3 sets of leaves, its vegging. Vegging is when the plant is growing in size, constantly producing leaves. The plant will not produce smokeable bud while vegging. At such a time when the plant is ready to make bud, the lights are switched from 18 or more hours, to 12 hours. The plant will recognize the 12 hour dark period as the end of the season, and will begin flowering in response to it. At this time, the plant stops growing new leaves, and stops growing vertically (to an extent). It begins to pack on the buds. The longer a plant is vegged for (ie, how large you let it get before telling it to produce bud), the more bud you will harvest in the end. For indoor growing, any plants taller than 36 inches are hard to keep well lit effectively. I flower my plants after about a month of vegetative growth. Flowering lasts anywhere from 8 to 16 weeks, depending on plant size, strain, and environment. Most plants take between 8 and 12 weeks to flower. Indica's (short fat strains, indigenous of Afghanistan areas) flower more quickly, while sativas (tall, lanky strains, tropical origination) usually take a bit more time.

Hope that helped!

sounds like a nute burn. Maybe flush out your plants and use less feeding. I believe the pH could be doing it also try to keep it down.

Im going to use a 400w for 6 plants that I am going to lollipop. You can grow with however much light you want, but the more light = the more buds as long as you can keep the plants kool. hps burns hot. I am getting a reflector with a cooltube so I can put my light very close to my plants.

what if i use the cfl's i have already, the 2700k ones with the 250 w hps.... will that b better... where i grow its really hot anyway so adding another 250w hps dosnt seem smart 2 me

Senor,
It's me again. thanks for all the help in the recent past, but I really think I need your help now. I think I have managed to burn my plants, but I'm not 100% sure how. A lot of the posts on here say that as long as you can keep the heat under control, the more light the better. After I switched to my 250w MH, my temps got as high as 79 - 80, but that's it. My RH was down to 20%, which is what I'm thinking caused my issue. I switched out the MH yesterday and went back to the (4) 26w CFL bulbs. I also added a cold mist humidifier, which rased the RH to about 45%. Now, it looks like my second plant is starting to develop the same problems. No nutes yet, other than the superthrive, which was only used once at the very beginning. Distilled water and I've been on top of the ph trying to keep it as close to 5.5 as possible, but it has gotten up to like 6.1 - 6.2, before I knocked it back down.

Looks like a nute burn. Whats your feeding schedule? What's your pH?

That could be a nute burn or a nute lockout... potentially completely different problems that can look the same. Without knowing more (how much youre nuting it, what youre adjusting your pH water to, and what your runoff water pH is) it would be hard to tell which one it is, but my gut says nute burn.

Plants that small should have a humidity dome over them. 20% RH will kill them pretty easily. You should try to be near 100% the first 3 or 5 days, and never under 40% after that while theyre in veg. During flowering you can drop as low as 20%.

I dont think the MH was your problem, but you can wait until the plants are a bit bigger before putting it back in.

Senor,
Thanks for the response. I think it was a combination of a few things. I changed my water out and noticed that it did have a funny smell. Water looked good, but I think the hydroton was not cleaned well enough so I had this clay slime shit in the bottom of the bucket. I also went and bought a cold mist humidifier, it keeps the RH up at around 45%, provided I don't run both exhausts, just the one through the light. If I run the main exhaust, the RH doesn't get above 25%. Since I'm back to the CFL's, heat is not a problem, but when I go back to the HID, I may have to figure out another way to raise the RH. I'll give it a few days and post pics if they recover. If not, I've got plenty of seeds to start over.
:peace:

im using completely organic manure... cow dung mixed with worm extract
dont have a ph meter.... but im using a reverse osmosis water filter system ph is 6.5...
