Thank you very much! I have one more question if you don't mind, I was curious what water level... I have a 5x5 square vinyl fence post and am having troubles with water levels.. I have a adjustable o-ring but it's kindof leaky.. I was curious would it be alright if I just put the water level just under the net pots? I read that the best thing about nft is the oxygen the plants get, and I don't want to ruin that with having the water level too high (if that's how it works)12" works great if you veg the plants first. If you go to flower right from clone you can go as small as 6". For example, I wanted to create a system that Oregonians can use legally this July. It uses 4 plants total but its the same size as my other 8 plant systems. I just vegged it another 2 weeks and trained the plants using Screen of Green techniques.
All the NFT systems I know of run on a timer. Water in one end, down the pipe and out the other end. Timer set to 1 on 4 off works best. The water level really doesn't matter because it should all drain out right away and leave the roots to just hang out and enjoy the O2.Thank you very much! Its either ebb or flood and drain what your on about, if the pumps go off on the nft, it's not nft. Nft has a constant recirculating system, whole point of it is it gets all the o2 from the air as well as nute uptake from the 1-3mm nute film recirculatingAll the NFT systems I know of run on a timer.
