NFT i presume???

K so im still debating systems while I work out my kinks, but I have been thinking about making a system which I guess would be a NFT system. Basicly a wanna run a no veg sog areoponicly but due to all the plants that would be in the system it would be costly and complicted and lots work building it. So here's what I was thinking. I set up 3 rails of 6ince pvc. The 3 rails side by side, would be 2 feet. Clones 6inches apart down the rails. The rails would be fastened to a wood frame and hung off the celing so I can raise and lower the units rather then the light so I can keep my canopy even, as I plan to have 3 of these untits with a total of 9 rails. One end of the rails would be a lil higher then the other and would have soup brought in. It then travels to the lower side and bak into the res hitting the roots on its way down. Now, question 1,is this NFT? #2,how often would I be turning my pump on and off? Would it be like areo or a constant running water down the rails? #3 how much soup should be running threw the rails? Like a trickle or lots? And # 4, how is the growth of this method vs.areo? I don't see much on a system like this and to me I fig it runs 1 on 5 off like areo but I don't know. So if any1 does, plz help me out. #5, advantages and disadantages to this method? Thnx RR

do a little research on aeroflo2 systems... there almost identical to what type of system ur wanting to use... the little the roots the higher the water once they have big roots you just want a 1/8 or 1/4 stream in rails draining at all times... i run mine 24-7 but if you buy a nice timer you could run it on a timer so you roots strech to find water... idk the time intervalsbut theres people here who do run it like thatjusthave to weed thru threads... we put rooted clones right into flower in this system and get 24-30" plants with 35-56 gram dried each plant ( with good genetics )

Thanx jack! How could I controll the amount of water running threw the rails? Like how do I make it more then less with out switchin pumps. Any1 else have answers for my OP?

I'm not much of a builder and can't really follow your description. Besides, I have never used anything like that. But if you build it, by all means take pics as you go and share it with us!

i use 5" fencepost easier to drill and keep everything straight the for the drain going into the res. i use 1 1/4 pipe and gh grommets ( 1 1/4 ) made for the aeroflo and u can adjust the high of the pipe insde your res.
