NFT Orchid Tank

Greetings,

I thought I might share one of my legit endeavors into hydroponics. A plastic grid has a coir mat attached to it, the grid and mat are standing in the back of a thirty gallon bowfront fish tank. On top of the grid a drip line has been attached so as to allow water to wash down the face of the coir mat. Miniature orchids have been mounted into the mat. Most of the orchids are in the pleurothallid family.

Nice little grow there my friend. My wife was growing them from seed in a jar and they started fairly regularly but they took forever to grow to size so I think we cancelled that project but it was fun while it lasted. Looks like you're doin ok though

That is an awesome orchid tank, I love orchids but i find there so hard to grow when there small. But that tank as an ecosystem for them is perfect.
