Wasup Nectarfam, new to the line but not to growing. I have been having issues with ph and soil ppm, ph was 7.1 and ppm was 220. So not terrible on the ppm side but needed a bump. I did 2 feeds, 1 was Greek mid veg, The other was a bumped up late veg on the recommendation of irieroot, both ph’d to 6. Happy to say this morning I am sitting at 6.3 ph and 380ppm in the soil.

Are you putting the DH in the tent? I have to run one too this time of year but I keep it in the room where are the humid air gets dumped to so it can pull the moisture from it. Extraction fans run on a cycle timer

do you have a theory on running the same temp day and night if i can do that i can get that rh down if the night temp doesnt cause to bad of a adverse effect

I have the opposite problem with low RH, best thing for me is to put the unit outside the tent and let it condition the air going in,(like irieroots said in the previous post). Sucks wasting precious grow space for anything but plants anyway. Hope you can get a handle on it zero, let us know how that works for you.

I would think as long as you stay in range of safe vpd you would be ok, might get longer internodes. Are you in flower? Is a portable AC an option? You can cool and dehumidify at the same time.

The plant stomata are closed at night so VPD isn't really effecting the plant when lights are out. Keep fresh air cycling, and keep it moving. 55 - 60% RH is the most I don't mind seeing during night cycle in bloom, but much less worrisome in mid 40's. Especially with dense flowers......bud mold or rot is a bitch!!

Ph is slowly rising. Ive been feeding at 6.7. The 5.7 are at 6.0 now everything else around 6.1 2 of them are in range at 6.6. No microbes just food until we are good in the root zone. Plants look amazing tho buds forming every where. Question tho if my soil is so low how are they still eating so much food not that its a bad thing lol. Ive been feeding 1600 and there at 300 every slurry basically. Hopefully a couple weeks of this every other day 6.7 they will rise up.

Once they get the taste, they just keep wanting more. They get used to having it and nothing else will satisfy them. Then there is rootmass and microbes eating all the organic matter so soil starts to lose its nutrient holding capabilities(CEC), and ph buffering capability. It literally becomes manual hydro!! One of best things to do to curb this from happening is keeping up with transplants and not letting roots over grow the pots......With 10 gallon being the minimum to work up to.

easy answer to your " why are they eating with ph low". cause your root drench feed is at the proper ph , thats why ... your on the fine line of disaster but recovering well ....

Idk if i am or i have a bad meter. The same slurry i did the day before last was 6.3 on the one climbing back up today its back to 6.0. I have given a flush at 7.0 and fed at 6.7 3 times now and its heading back down towards 5.9. Im at a lost i havent fed microbes. I just re calibrated my meter. Im 2 weeks into flower i have to get this under control asap. Im thinking about top dressing a little lime stone.

Limestone is a good option. Gypsum is a soil balancer too, I always have a bag of gypsum flour on the shelf for drenches- 1- 2 tsp per gallon. It's fast acting like some limestones, I've just only ever used oyster and gypsum, plus crab meal & rock dust for ph and mineral balancing. There is a EWC & gypsum topdress recipe on buildasoil site somewhere......your not so far into bloom that this could be used.

I would reccommend trying to do continuous Herc resets but they would starve, perhaps some strong Gaia flushes at 7.0 and lower your volume of feed water so you can hit them daily. Because right now they are only eating straight from the bottle, then soil drops out and they aren't eating.

Im wondering if my meter is off i just calibrated it the other day and i put it in 7.0 solution and its reading that at 6.6. I just recalibrated it. The slurry that it just said was 5.8 is 6.1 now.
