The "omnibus c-10 bill", well not going to get into all the politcal crap exactly, just so many things wrong with this bill but what the bill has done is made ppl convicting petty crimes like growing 6-199 marijuana plants a 6 month mandatory sentence and jumps to 9months if your not growing on ur own property (renting). This bill makes it worse for someone who grows 6 plants at home for personal consumption then a pedifile flashing a kid on a playground. A pedifile only gets 3 months mandatory, now i think that is also applied to the bill, only god knows whya pedifile would get any less than that so that could be agreeable, but the plants thing, rediculous. That is just an example.. they are raising the amount of time it is to recieve a pardon to 10 years! They are increasing the amount of a criminals sentence if he is doing time lets say in the US and wants to finish his sentence back home in canada, they increase it whereas if he just stayed in the US it would be over and dealt with and only the states would have that record, if he came back to canada, canada takes over his record and adds more time to it.. like wtf is that lol.. anyways im probly not doing the best job of explaining the bill but its whats going to happen as a result of this bill is the biggest problem. Harsher penalties for young offenders for petty crimes, wtf is that lol. Our crime rate has only gone down in canada, this is going to increase it and increase the need for more prisons to be built. In canada to a canadian this bill is out of nowhere, makes absolutely no sense becuz of where we were and had come before this bill. I personally believe its all for profit shares in the prison system for drug enforcement agencies, and pharmacutical companies and harper and the concervatives. It does nothing positive for canada except benefit the concervative party and they're strength. Democracy is going to fly out the window. Let alone the concervative party illegally won the election and arent even facing a trial over it. Therefore they have no say in the house let alone the right to present a new bill. The guy who passed it thru has to be in on all this too becuz he fast tracked it thru the court system without really even giving it a chance for debate. There is some americanization going on in our canadian politics these days. And i thot we were coming along great. Mayb this is to boost the american economy. MAKE WEED LEGAL AND CANADA WOULD BE LOADED and there would be no reason for cutting corners in healthcare systems like rehabilitation or cutting education budgets, etc. etc.. Like if we clearly havent fixed the problem with drugs (being one thing) with all the billions of dollars spent every year in trying to stop them then clearly making things even harsher isnt going to do it either. Its just going to punish the next generation. Like our crime rates went down and our marijuana use went up, doesnt that tell u something. JEEZ ppl need to get shotgunned like in the scarface movie.. POP POP lol.
