Nite Spider Mite Load of Shite

Hi well i noticed spider mite a couple of weeks ago now an acted straight away , i bought a pruduct nite nite spider mite an got to work straight away waited till lights went out and sprayed them thinging that was it then spotted them again last nite an thought bastards, so was up early an this time made sure i took my time an sprayed everywhere on top of leave , underneath , srems , pots tent everywhere my lights have just come on went for a look an there they are not as meny but its only time. iv got 5 weeks left and i know its just a matter of trying to control them but when i treat them i need to take every plant of so was thinking about getting some insects that eat spidermites has any1 used them before or got any other ideas sorry for going on an on but am pissed off with the horrible little fuckers

Dr Doom's fogger worked for me.. I fogged once three days in a row while lights off. Didnt seem to affect my plants and there weren't ANY spider mites remaining.I also sprayed with mite rid for days after as a preventive measure.. In week 3 flower..

THIS IS WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT THEM

Accidentally introduced from Chile on a shipment of orchids in 1958, phytoseiulus persimilis is a fast moving predatory mite and the principal biological control for greenhouse red spider mite. The adult phytoseiulus are slightly larger than the spider mites with longer legs and an orange-red body. They move rapidly over plants, searching for they prey and each individual can consume 5 adults or 20 immature stages of spider mite per day. The secret of phytoseiulus’ success is simple; it’s development from egg to adult is twice as fast as that of the spider mite at 20-22 degrees centigrade, although the predator does have a problem moving from plant to plant; leaves that touch provide a transfer from one plant to another, and where this is unpractical, the use of string or netting to provide a miniature walkway is advised. This predator is capable of totally eradicating red spider mite infestations but there is a negative to this positive; the phytoseiulus will die out from starvation and will need to be reintroduced if new spider mite infestations occur.

Not sure where you're from (I checked yeh profile but it didn't say) but if you're in the UK I can personally recommend Plant Vitality Plus. One spray killed all the nazi feckers in one go and they haven't been back since. Can't recommend it enough, although it does smell like paint stripper

If you are running a sealed environment I recommend No Pest Strips. I had a huge infestation, lost 3 plants less than 3 weeks away from harvest.

You'll need to completely shut down your ventilation for 24 hours, use at least 2 No Pest strips per 4' x 4' area and wait. Do not enter the grow room during these 24 hours or have any pets or animals around it for too long. After 24 hours (or a few hours during lights off for a week, just remember to shut off your ventilation) you will notice nothing but dead spider mites.

If you have a veg area chances are they got there too, do the same there during lights off and use a foliar spray to kill them, I use SM-90 and haven't seen one in a few weeks (fingers crossed) after doing what I just posted. That was about a 2 week period of fighting them, you have to stay on them and do not let up, just one single female can produce 500 off spring in a week, or so I read.

Good luck, kill them first before they kill your ladies, 5 weeks from harvest is more than enough time for them to wipe out your plants

The only thing I use now. Works in veg or Flower, no need to spray or rinse the plants or concern of molding in a flowering plant if not done properly.

I guarantee it will work for you. And they are only $6.50 each at Lowe's or home depot.

yea the no pest strip works great. i sprayed with azamax and put 1 of the strips in my room nd no mites. been a month i guess. i also use mosquito dunks for gnats that works great also.

your product is probably neem based. neem does not kill mites right away, it rather poisons them and kills them slowly. at any right, you have to spray again after a few days to kill the mites that were in eggs and were not poisoned. after 2-3 sprays you should be good.

just ordered some plant vitality plus to try keep them under control and some no pest strips they look the 1s but as am in uk they dont sell them here so they coming from usa not sure how long they will take but seen as i have 4-5 weeks left thought it best to get some then i wont have to keep pulling my plants out and spraying them. thanx all for the tips and advise

When you spray don't forget to spray the soil with it too, as long as you spray under and over every inch of the plants those mites will be gone the next day. Those no pest strips they sell in the US aren't allowed over here in the UK, apparently due to cancer causing agents in the strips. Can't say if that's 100 percent true because you can't believe everything you read but it might still be worth checking into.

You didn't tell at what stage you were in your grow and that makes a huge difference on how you can take care of them. If you are far along in flower you are kinda stuck with using a neem oil based product I use Dyna Gro Neem but there are many out there just keep up on them. If you are in veg you have more options ( by the way that is a great site for research) I use forbid(try EBay) right before 12/12 if you live in Cali you will have to have a friend get it for you because its banned and its nasty stuff mask full clothing the works but I do not ever have mites EVER. One thing I do know is that sand will not kill them.
