Trying to save their own hides is what that means Jeff. Politicians are so out of touch, look at how many of them are mega millionaires. Do you really think any national politician other than the Pauls and a few others really give a rats ass about anything we care about? think any of them worry about whether or not they will be able to put gas in the car to afford to drive to their low paying wage job at some run of the mill service outfit? I bet most of them enjoyed the Bush tax cuts, Which really wasn't a cut but a HUGE windfall break on the taxation of capital gains profits. I mean, people wonder why these stupid bills get passed, look who receives an inordinate amount of the benefits.

to listen to her you would think she goes out in the fields at monsanto (her hubbies company) and hands out $50 bills to all the peasants picking her greenbeans.

i will bet she has a team of accountants looking for the latest greatest loopholes that she wrote into the tax code.

they are a pathetic lot for sure.

she was much better at her job than boehner is.

boehner is just really, really bad at his job.

no comment about either one of their policies, just commenting on their effectiveness as leaders.

You know, for as much national scrutiny that Pelosi recieves her consituents seem to love her; She has represented the 8th congressional district(which is most of San Francisco) of California since 1987. As someone who's economic views are largely Keynesian, and as someone who believes in the the importance of protecting the New Deal and Great Society - I'm glad Pelosi is in such a position of power(as are quite obviously and most importantly her consituents).

they are both fart gurglers.

and mame, san fran is such a house of ill repute, its not surprising they would elect her over and over. after all, they did outlaw toys in happy meals. and you dont get more keynsian than that.

if you want to bring up a policy, at least bring up the entire policy.

the ban is only for meals that carry the nutritional content of a piece of cardboard dipped in bacon fat. make the meal healthy in the least, you get a toy.

Liberals dont support these things just because it's "free shit"; I haven't needed any government aid at all in my adult life but I'm of the opinion that social safety net programs have a net positive effect on society, at least in economic terms. For people like me Pelosi is great... She's true to her positions(whether you agree with them or not), founded the CPC, leads effectively - I wouldn't call her the left's Ron Paul or anything like that, but she is one hell of a public servant as far as I'm concerned.

What part of Keynesianism suggests that we ban happy meals? I wasn't aware there was a model for that...

Right on, Uncle Buckie ... and as we all know, it is in the spirit of liberty and freedom that we hand over every last vestige of our lives to our liege lords that occupy that ten-square-mile enclave known as Washington D.C., even down to that last french-fry and chocolate-dipped cone. After all, Uncle Buckie, why leave freedom of choice in the hands of parents when we can get screwed in the ass over and over by some nanny state bureaucrat?

So then, you're completely happy with having "local" government telling you what you can, and what you cannot, put into the mouths of your children? Would you like them to dictate which brand of toilet paper to use as well?

here is the point buckie. the law was passed by GOVT on a private business.

i know its hard for anything to get into that cranium of yours, but this isnt as if the people walked in and said, we aint shopping here no more.

a couple of loons get elected, and they go into private business to tell them how to run it.

then the business goes down, the property owner, a private citizen, looses his rent on the property or his ability to make a living, and closes down and moves out. why? cuz big brother told him he couldnt advertise the way he has for 60 fuckig years.

its not about the happy meal you liberal dopes.

are you seriously this oblivious to freedom and how the govt destroys it?

liberty....give it a try.
