NL 44 Days Flower. How much longer?

Hey , Growing Northern lights for the first time. I changed lights to 12/12 44 days ago, my setup is 2X600w HPS cooltube lights There grown in soil using Xtreme nutrients Flower A & B,I have mothers and clones in flower. i got a couple of question.

How much longer will they need.. i wanted to harvest around Feb 4-7?
i got a bit of i think its potassium def, should i worry and try and fix it or?
and when should i start flushing?

When to harvest depends on how you like your smoke, especially with indicas. The typical indica is best harvested on the early side to achieve a trippier high and avoid an uncomfortable, total couchlock high. Those plants have a good two weeks left before I'd suggest quick-drying a small sample bud to see how the high is developing. The necrosis on the leaf tips looks more like P def than K. It would be a very good idea to give them some P asap, in addition to plenty of K. You should plan on flushing little more than a few days before harvest since you don't yet know the total flowering time for that strain in your setup. It's far better to not flush at all than to have the plants stall days before harvest becase all of the nutrients they need to grow were washed away.

Thanks for the reply, sorry im a bit newb but what is P is it phosphorous? if so then is that available in Potash because i have been feeding them with that aswell as my flower nutes since i noticed the leaf tips dying about 2 weeks ago,

i was hoping to harvest in abour 2 weeks because ive got clones ready to go and i need these out asap, but i want to get good smoke and a good yeild so i want to let it go the full distance or as close as i can.

i think your plants look great! im a rookie and only one harvest under my belt BUT its good to go by the dna days of flowering! my critical mass is a 55 day flower period but i harvested them at day 50! just depends on if you feel there ready BUT its good to have 75% of the white hairs go red/brown couler! also to look at the trichomes under a micro 30x but i find all over the plant the tricomes are different! so go back to the dna flowerinbg time AND the hair change! there for your plants are not ready yet bro! lots of white hairs still BUT wait another 2-3 weeks and ytoull see a big change

Those plants look fine. I see no signs of Potassium def. If anything you have the evermost slightliest of nute burn which means you have taken them to their boundry without hurting them. BRAVO!!!

I definately think they need a few more weeks though. I would start weaning down nutes in a week and the last two feedings should be plain water. :hump:

haha thanks guys, your comments made me feel real good about my grow, i got 23 Plants the one in the photo with a hand is a clone and a pretty average one at that, any guess on what kind of yeild im looking at?

try not to plan on having a set harvest date if you wanna not stress out. if you want good smoke (and not just sellable bud) be prepared to wait a week or two later than anticipated. you won't regret it.

When I grew NL indoors it was ready by 60 days normally, but I'm sure there are different variations of NL, since it's such an old yet popular strain.

yeah it will be ready by 60 days for sure.

Cheers , im gonna let it go 60 days but i dont have a microscope to looks at trichs , anyway i can tell by the hairs or anything else, all i can say is they have so much crystals its a joke and there so heavy there supporting each other... any guess of yeild?

lovely plants! are you using a switchable HID is that why the rush to make room for the clones?
look for the thread "harvest time a tutorial" i thought it was interesting how he mentions the bud leaves "hooking upwards" when its ready. Also how the bud leaves take on an amber tint as the trichs on the leaves turn amber just beofre the trichs on the buds. Radioshack has some decent 30-100x microscopes for $12 or so.
