Anyone can say what that article says about atlantis, but nobody knows where it was or even if it was actually real at all, so that article is fraudulent even at a glance. Especially fraudulent because it's selling a book.
The geological things it says may have happened I don't know, but forget all about atlantis other than dismissing any articles which claim to know anything about it.

Mount Ararat's elevation is 12,872 feet. Looking at a picture of it I'd say at least the top third is obviously covered with snow and above treeline, just to be safe though we'll say it's the top 25% that is truly above treeline.

So I'd say a conservative estimate for treeline is around 9,654ft for Mount Ararat

I realize that, primarily due to your latitude I suspect. I did a brief google search & 2000m was the most consistent number I ran into, altho I did find a pretty cool picture of a tent "camp" at 3200m & nary a stick in sight.
As a side note my tree line here varies from 500 to 1000 ft.
Interesting stuff.

Eh my boredom got the best of me and I did a rough calculate on it anyway
Apparently there are two peaks called Ararat - a "Greater and a Lesser" with elevations of 16,854 ft and 12782 ft respectivly. Since they are not giving a specific location how do we know which one I wonder?Mount Ararat's elevation is 12,872 feet. Any geologist could easily tell you if a flood occurred which raised water levels to 13,000 feet... which is just under 3 miles deep! No need to find a boat to prove that.

Lets say it happened though. A flood came in and somehow lifted this boat up gently rather than crush it, and then an earthquake came in and lifted it some more gently enough to survive the 3 mile climb without throwing out all the occupants. Lets say that happened.
And they land on top of the mountain 13k feet up, and they let the water go away and don't freeze waiting for it.
Who carries all the non mountain climbing animals, non fur bearing, cold loving, kick ass animals down 13k feet? Not only that didn't it just get washed with water, might be slippery, how did they do it?

No fdd people take that stuff literally. We just need to reverse engineer how it was done to prove it was possible.
Could be right Cracker, there may be a huge mass grave at the bottom.
Not just because of the ones that didn't make the frantic downhill ride directly, but if say one didn't make it out of the pair then there's no sense wasting a flexi flyer on the other.
What with plastic being so limited back then and all too, they probably just left the animal there or pushed it off the cliff.
