Noise cancelling bong.

Hi people.. I introduced myself last night as can be seen here: https://www.rollitup.org/introduce-yourself/217462-noise-cancelling-bong.html

My idea is to create a noise cancelling bong. Because bongs are noisy (at least mine is) and my mother will never change her opinion of cannabis as a horrific drug that causes illness upon illness, I need a silencer for my bong. And hence I am going to build a bong with a microphone and an inverting amplifier hooked up to a speaker that should hopefully cancel most of the noise produced from taking an epic hit from a bong. Oh and btw I am 21 still living at home, hence the reason I am building this. What do you lovely people think? If I am successful in my quest I shall post up plans and instructions for the device.

Let me get this straight, you record whats going on inside the bong and the noise it is making, and then you use speakers and a computer to actively invert the sound waves (or whatever its called) and send them out to cancel out the sound waves produced by your bong?

Yes, patent that shit.

When I rip my RooR it is pretty quiet. Certainly you cant hear it through a door.

Get a better bong or learn how to hit the one you have.

Yes exactly that is the idea. It shouldnt be too hard, i'll just use a cheap little opamp with some variable pots. And moving out isn't an option really. Too expensive (i'm studying full time and hence can't work full time).

And yes i need a better bong however it would still make noise. My mother has ears that can hear dam near anything. Shit i need to move out.

yeah i guess maybe you could try a small bubbler they are like mini bongs and they dont make that much noise when you hit them or if you want to be able to smoke without having to worry about too much noise just roll up a joint or blunt its kinda hard to roll the first couple times but once you get a feel for it your joints will be golden i started making blunts just last month and now my friends will get weed just to smoke one of my blunts hehe

Hmm bubbler not best idea cause its harsher than a bong and a joint would smellout the place. So I hit the bong and blow it out the window. But at the moment I have to suck really slow to keep the noise down and hence I can't take a proper hit. I have a vaporizer but I am worried about the health effects of air heated around some dodgy device (it's most likely made in china because it was a cheap one hence the heating element could be made of anything, as well as the plastic whip) giving me my holy hit of ganja. I prefer smoking it to the vapo. So I will continue with my idea in the hope of making a 100% silent bong. However I doubt I will ever reach that figure, I just want it to filter out the really noticeable frequencies. Thanks for the input people, keep it coming.

yeah dude i think it would be awesome to see the first noise canceling bong here on RIU and all the power to ya with the invention but in the meantime i recommend just rolling some papers so you can get a proper hit and just blow that smoke out the window

P.S. im talking about the blunts or joints just being a temporary thing not a replacement i would love to see a noise canceling bong

I just realised something. It is going to be really hard to make this device. I thought it would be simple but it's going to be really hard to get it to cancel the sound. Hopefully I can get it canceled/disrupted enough. I might have to call it the bong bubble disruptor 2009.

hah man thats sick hey and if its alot harder than you thought i would just say to power through any difficulties and get er done then sell your creation (patent it first) and make some hard cash and become a very very succesful pot head to show the government that pot is NOT bad
