I have a LOUD fan (floor fan from costco and 8" vortex fan for lights with ducting. Right now I have t5 up so the fan is louder because there is less ducting (for the HPS lights). It is in a 9 by 5 hydro hut and is in a small room. I nee help with the noise as many can hear this buzz even just in the next room with all windows and doors shut. Please help me with advice on sound proofing, or at least with blanketing or reducing the sound. Thank you!

I don't have a pic yet, but what do you mean? It is near the window, far from the door and is centered in the tent width wise and almost centered length wise.

I decided I will get a speed regulator, and will also pin up boxes around the parameter of the hut...but this thing is a JET ENGINE! I really don't know what to do.

Is the Vortex fan the "jet engine" or the Costco floor fan?
Its the vortex. It seriously is like there is a plane overhead when you are in the room next to the hut. There is even a slight humm(which isn't noticable unless your listening for it) from the floor below the room. My concern isn't even so much the noise for the neighbors, but if I have guests over it is quite intrusive. I can't really find an excuse for it.

I have a muffler/silencer. It is made by fantech. You put it in as a piece of your ducting and it cuts the sound in half by about %50.
