Hey what's up everyone! My name is Dylan. I pretty much made the decision to start growing because I was sick of the handfuls of pills the VA Is giving me.....plus I'm tired of buying weed.... and get free BETER meds. So I ordered from Herbies. I'm STOKED my order should be here tomorrow :) it's about 40miles away.

I ordered:
Strain hunters money makers fem. (3 seeds)
Vision northern lights auto fem (5)

And got the following free (Herbies)

(1) dinafem OG kush fem
(2) reg afgani

My set up is in my laundry room.....which my major problem is humidity. I'll be putting a dehumidifier in and also a window AC unit. I get peaks up to 91% and as low as 54%. Temps are perfect.

3cu ft of soil
Dr. Earth organic soil
Dr. earth organic fertilizer
Distilled water
T5 4 bulb lighting 6500k
Tiger bloom nutrients

I originally wanted a LED grow.....but the T5 was at a local pawnshop for $69....I looked it up and it's a $190 lamp...
So when my first grow is done I may switch to LED

Any tips appreciated!!

I am going to save up and secretly order a good LED probably a MARS 300. I will CAL mag the water also. Is that every time you water? I pre mixed 1/3 serving of fertilizer into the soil. Wasn't much......I'm worried if I squeeze 3 plants into my growing bin.....it will get to cramped....may grab another bag of soil for a total of 4.5cu ft

I'm not going to water until it's dry up to my first knuckle. Then give it love. T5 will only be used till flower. :) I wish I had the nuts to get a HPS system.....only $160 not to bad....

No, dont go dry up to first knuckle method. Pick up pots when saturated with water and guage weiight. Do not water when you pick up pot again, and it still feels about half full, a couple days later. Water again when pot is super light, showing that MOST of the water is depleted. If you stretch it too far the plant may look a little sad. But will perk up as soon as she gets a good drink. With Distilled water, which is stripped of everything, you want small amount of calmag 1/4 strengh each watering to avoid most common deficiencies.

Remenber the temps with even a small hps. Hope yoy have good extraction,
Wow eBay has full blown Apollo HPS kits with the 2 bulbs and everything for $120 shipped
Heat extraction is critical, even with low wattsge HPS. If you are not extracting major air via 4-8" exhaust inline fan, temps will be high 80's! Too hot without added CO2. LED will keep things far cooler and use allot less juice. Trade off? Money and some yield.

Dude,

I want so badly to see you and others like you succeed in cultivation. This is a very rewarding hobby and too some a career, it is certainly a lifestyle for all of us. the first thing we need is to know what we are doing. It is easy to get online with a vague pic in your head, look at some of the growz and equipment. Then say to yourself..."I can do this, I just need the right equipment"...I have seen people invest literally $1,000s of dollars and produce crap. While I have also seen some growing with cfls and a cardboard box doing extremely well.

The only difference between these types of growers is how much they read and learned before jumping in head first. before you invest in commercial LED units, go to the LED forum and ask others opinions, get the facts, do some searching. Check different kinds of grow space options, tent, cabinet, micro etc...Choose a medium...soil, soilless, hydro, etcetera.

Learn some of the basics. I know how it is to be excited beyond belief and the I can't wait to see my first real leaf feeling. But if you really take some time learning and just spending what you need to spend based on research...you will save a shit load of $$$ and produce a better product in the end.

Good Luck and Great Growz

If you're using your laundry room, use your dryer ducting to pump out air to keep humidity down. Smell wont really be a concern until flower and then you can get a carbon filter. You can use a splitter to tap into your dryer ducting/exhaust. Should be cheaper than a dehumidifier. But do what works for you. The post above me is very solid advice!!!! I like to read and research until I can answer most questions and find the solution myself. But that is my OCD ways. Best of luck!!!

FYI you can order/get T5 bulbs in the proper spectrum for flower too. T5s and T8s can be great if you go about it the right way. There are also some HO CFL's you can get too. This is an example. https://www.1000bulbs.com/product/1573/FC200-FEIIB200W.html?utm_source=SmartFeedGoogleBase&utm_medium=Shopping&utm_term=FC200-FEIIB200W&utm_content=5000K+Compact+Fluorescent+Grow+Bulbs&utm_campaign=SmartFeedGoogleBaseShopping&gclid=CJzB38b3zcsCFRCRaQodoWkN0g
