Noob LED question

I am pretty much a noob grower have grown 2 crops both under 400 w hps and feel i got good results from both crops,but due to my work sometimes I have to leave for a week suddenely and its usually in the middle of a grow, and no one except my wife knows i grow and she goes with me....so here is my question is the heat from a led significantly less then an hps and with less heat do your plants require less water ? would it be possible to leave for a week and not have to worry about your house burning down or your plants not getting water ?
I grow small personal use a couple plants at a time grown in a 2x5x5 tent, what is a good brand for quality led lights,i would like to buy a decent led light, was looking at one from a place called hydroponicshut .com model pro grow 260 they say it is equal to a 600 watt hid, but their lumen claim is allot less than a 600 w hid? How does that work ?
also how do yeilds and time to mature compare to a hid ?

If you are growing in soil, you can go longer between watering using larger containers. With a 5 gal pot you can usually go a week under a 400-600 watt hid.

If you look around they make auto-watering setups for soil. That will solve all of your problems. Want to keep your babies on a good watering/nute cycle.

I have the 550W from hydro hut. Your problem is you have 5 foot to cover which means you will need to get two lights, considering you have 2 foot wide I would say either get 2x 180W or 2x 260W for best coverage. This is the biggest issue with LED, coverage. Hydro hut LED's imo are some of the best when taking selective switch and cree components into consideration.
