Noob needs help

okay so ive spent about a month now doing research on growboxes and have decided to just make my own , but the problem is i havent done any research on the actual plant growing just the building of a grow box, if anyone knows where i can get some good info please let me know

i just figured out it would be pointless to start building my box since i have absolutely no idea how to construct a hydro system (what is needed and how to make it work...etc)

any help would be appreciated

you made a good catch. depending on the system and method you choose to use your grow room design can be effected greatly.

now about your request.

if your reading this then you are in the right place.

Start simple. expound.

have fun with it and if at first you don't succeed it's ok try again and you will eventually get it.

Maybe start with soil instead of jumping into hydro straight away, make the move to hydro once you understand the plant and how it grows/what it needs to grow better.

But you might want to start looking at some grow journals, which I guess is a good place to start.

And there's a heap of information in the General Growing section, but I'd recommend heading to Newbie Central, and read as many articles as you can haha.
Grow books can be great as well, but remember just to use them as a rule of the thumb, just because something grows well in Canada, doesn't mean it'll grow as well in say Indonesia, which a lot of grow books really forget to add.

And as for building a grow box, how large do you want the plant/s to be? You can grow in anything from a desktop computer to a airport hangar, your options are pretty broad, but you just have to have the fundamentals really, proper ventilation (air), light, and a medium to grow in.

Or instead of building a grow box, you could just buy a grow cab off eBay or Amazon, if you're prepared to pay a bit of money.

Lol a deuche? Whatever the fuck that is. All the information you're looking for is literally a single click away. There are hundreds of pages covering everything you need to know here...
But I digress. If you're the type of person that has to be spoon fed everything then by all means... Don't let me stop you.

captainkush you'll be fine. starting with hydro is fine too. you'll look back on this thread once you're up and running and probably smile.

things to know : make sure plant pots have air holes. fill with stones or some kind of polystyrene so excess water can run out the bottom and air can go in. fill with a grow medium (coco/perlite or soil).

temperature I keep mine about 80

air flow buy a fan

fresh air intake, open a window, leave door open, duct fan.

water about once every three days, to see when your plant needs water stick your finger in, it should feel dry top inch and a half (you'll find happy times and ways to water for how you're feeling your grow).

nutes, simple way to avoid nute burn is if the bottle says mix 1cm with 1litre water, mix 1cm with 2litre water.

buy a tub of ona to mask the smell if needed.

sit back, be patient and enjoy it.

Start and stay with soil! Hydro herb sucks and smokes bad..plus its easy to over fertilize in hydro for a new grower.soil is the best quality or coco..use Botanicare nutrients and follow feeding amounts on bottle..also use cleansed water..use bottle water for your first grow then expand into.an RO system...Jore Cervantes dvd
