when you see the cotyledon (the beginning rounded ones) leaves begin to die, start adding nutes very slowly.

Subbed :) nice neat set up swishsam, i am doing a similar thing ( although slightly more ghetto!) growing two auto northern lights i got as a freebie..., on week 3 now and not looking too bad, call it an experiment!
Interested to see how your babies grow!

Why do you have that one tied down?
I'm trying to grow her like a bonsai tree, having the main stem spiral round the pot instead of growing straight up. Just a little experiment of mine.

Sadly at the moment i don't have a bigger space to move them to. When I have some spare cash (that isn't needed for rent/bills/food) I'm gonna look for a cheep wardrobe/closet that i can setup in.

All i can say is...you get out of it what you put into it. Get a three dollar flat white spray paint can instead of tin foil (much better) You deffinately have to get nutrients, no two ways about it, your plant cant live off of pee and tea. You WILL need nutrients, get them early instead of late. Also, I have done cfl grows, put the bulb like two inches from the top of the plant, its great. Also, flower early, a flourescent bulbs spectrum and intensity only has a usable grow zone of about 12 inches.

Be careful with that, because there seems to be a point at which the main stalk just doesn't want to play nice anymore. I've had to top a few of mine because they were having drying issues at the topmost (and furthest out) growth.

You might be better doing it for the first 5-7 nodes and then fimming to get it to split properly. Another thing to keep in mind is how you bend the plant. If possible, try to make sure that the branches can grow out to the left and right, rather then the top and bottom. The bottom branches always struggle.

Thanks for your input ChairmanMaow +rep

So yesterday afternoon the soil was feeling rather dry so I decided to feed them. I mixed up some tepid water with a few used teabags from the side of the sink, i also added a half tsp of honey (haven't got any molasses yet) and a nice little splash of urine :)
I watered them with this and left them about an hour before watering again with just water till water began to come out of the drainage holes. My thinking behind this is that the soil will absorb the "nutrient" solution but any water in the pot is just plain water, and should help me avoid nute burn.

I've just been to check on them this morning (aprox 16h since feed) and they are looking good, a bit of a growth spurt the second nodes are starting to grow now and the stems are looking longer. Mary's leaves are drooping a little but they where like this Yesterday so I don't think its the feed, no yellow or brown just nice green :weed:

I'm getting so excited now, I've been off work for a couple of days with a cold/man flu and all I've been doing is watching docs about weed and watching my plants. I hope they start growing faster once they get more nodes.

Added some pics, and I've also put a PC fan in there to circulate the air.

Ok little couple of pics to update this thread.

1 seed germinated quiker than the other and therefore has had about a 36hour head start on life in soil. (this plant is called Mary)

The second is just showing its head above the soil (she is called Jane)
Creative names, I'm sure no one has ever thought of that one.

At the moment i just have a couple of low power lights in there, my thinking is that i will bring out the big guns when they have had a few days to settle in. Advise on when is best to expose them to full lighting would be appreciated.
Let there be life... excellent. Always a nice feeling to see a couple of new babies brought into this world.

good growing.
