Nooooob needs some BASIC help!

Hi!,
So I may take the cake for the most amateur and lame "grower" here, if you can even call it that. I'm just trouble shooting and learning so any help is great. I was walking to my car a couple weeks ago and wind up finding a little plant about 6-8 inches growing right outside of my local bank in it's garden. I swooped in that night and dug it up to transplant back home. Got home and threw the plant/root in a glass of water to keep it alive until I could get some soil to put it into. It spent about 24 hours in the glass of water and seemed totally fine. Wound up getting some organic pre-mixed, ready to go outdoor potting soil from the local Home Depot. I used the only pot I had which is a small flowerpot and know that needs to be upgraded big time. Anyways, after transplanting, all the leaves went droopy and limp. I watered adequately but don't think too much...and seeing how it looked to be just fine sitting in nothing but water for over a day, I doubt that overwatering would be a culprit. After a week or so of being in the soil, most of the larger bottom leaves dried up and died off while the new leaves continue to grow small and slow. I'm no advanced gardener of anything but it just seems the plant is stressed, something isn't right. Or is it? Is this just the shock of transplanting and things will bounce back to normal over time? Nutrient or soil composition shock?? Afterall it was just transplanted from some random hole in the sidewalk. Just never experienced this before transplanting anything else. It doesn't look like the plant is dying nor does it seem to be thriving.

Unlike most here, all i'm trying to do is grow a plant in a pot out on my sunny balcony. Not growing with any intention of producing usable buds or anything, just to have a pretty bushy house plant for decoration and to pick leaves for salads and juicing. If I want super high quality bud, it's just easier to go to the hundreds of dispensaries around the way. Just a simple person trying to grow a weed on the porch and having a tough time!

Any tips on getting my little adopted baby thriving would be so appreciated!!

It would really help if you had pics..lol..and ya it's in shock from being pulled outa the ground and stuck in water...and yes it's been over watered if you had it in a cup of water...TIP: if soil is wet/damp do not water til it is dry, and seeing a pic will let someone determine how old it is and whether it needs nutrients or not...and you have to keep it in at least 18 hours of light per day for it not to bud ..or seed...the buds are pretty but the seeds are not..good luck..

Didn't you read...it said that they found it outside of a BANK...so it was gona get cut by grounds keeping anyway...
Now, whether it's true or not is another question...hhmmm..yep, I don't giva a f*** cause that was a stupid place to grow a plant...lol

Ok, here are a couple pics I just took, it's been in this pot for almost 10 days. I do not have any before pics unfortunately. The smaller leaves towards the bottom of the stalk are going a bit yellow and I just noticed the tips of the two big leaves to be a bit brown. The balcony faces south and gets at least 7-8 hours of direct sun.

A bank? is it a hemp plant?
Yes, I found it outside a bank, like a Wells Fargo bank, not someone's seed bank. I doubt you can say it's stolen property since it's probably not in Wells Fargo's landscaping scheme. I imagine that someone found a seed in their baggie, threw it out, and it would up growing. It's a weed after all. Doubt it was intentionally planted where I found it.

Cannabis? good question, without pic no way to tell, you drowned that plant by putting it in a glass of water for 24 hrs, not too bright. then you transplanted and fed it water again, it's obvious you know nothing abt growing plants, no offense but come on, it may survive but it will take time, don't feed it for a while and see how it goes.

That's no hemp plant...someone was taking care of that...if it's turning yellow and brown w/spots sounds like it needs a good round of nutrients...go cheap, like Miracle Gro Houseplant food and mix 1/4 strength from what the bottle says, and only feed once a week..don't get expensive stuff when your just going to grow it for looks..

Yeah, thanks for pointing that out to me, I thought I made it pretty clear in the original post that I don't really know much about growing plants, hence my questions. Apparently not or maybe some people just get off from stating the obvious. I ran out of Brawndo and figured water was the next best thing.

I appologise for making that statement, it's not like me and I regret making it.
