Nor-Cal Storm on the way

Lol, exactly! My GF is stressing the rain wayyy too much... I told her that weed has been getting rained on for thousands of years, and it'll be fine.

You wanna know which plants always seem to do better? The ones I've decided to kill and stop caring for. That's when they just fucking take off, stop showing deficiencies and stress and all the other crap. They're shy I guess. ;)

I have not seen one drop but your right the clouds look bad so I tarped mine so the water runs off my house onto the tarp and to the ground keeping my nugs dry and watering with mother's water. Not to worried only got like a week left should be real busy come next week end but I dont want to get em wet might take longer to dry once harvested next week end. Heck I hope we get some rain no wind alittle earlier but dead calm right now my plants need water so rain already! Lol

We got some sprinkles and that's it. Give me some fucking rain, dammit! I haven't watered ANYTHING FOR DAYS AND THEY'RE THIRSTY! Sheesh.

They are so close to being ready that I don't want to deprive them of any light. Wouldn't tarping them be the lazy option, rather than running out every few hours to shake them off like I'm doing?

Use a clear painters tarp. Wet buds, close to finish. Thats even worst dude. You may have higher chances of mold now. Just think of that humidity + water. I see mold for sure....

I'm impressed that you can make a 'for sure' statement about my garden when you haven't even seen it and don't have any idea of the microclimate or humidity levels. The sun's coming out tomorrow.

Don't wish mold on people. :finger:

If you have thick dense buds you dont want them to get wet. The pot from way back that got rained on naturally never had all the stuff we have today to make the biggest buds ever. We now have Excellent strains, Foxfarm products etc. that equals to gigantasourus buds. I put patio umbrellas over mine last year and it wasnt enough to keep em dry from the rain. I had mold big time. Best bet is to do what it takes to keep em dry..dont kid yourself. As soon as the sun comes out uncover em and let em air out.

I'm in norcal too and I have 5 plants that are about 5' tall . . . have no good tarp at the moment to hang over the top of them but I managed to put tarp along the 7FT fence that I have wire supports on (so it's basically wind-proof as it gets crazy windy where I'm at.)

right now it's really windy and raining. not very hard last I checked but I'm still concerned, these plants have a few more weeks to go . . .

FDD , I like the pvc pipe bent over and clear plastic/duct tape idea. I bet the plants under that one will stay dry. I had patio umbrellas placed back to back last year and where the gap was that I didnt fully seal the rain just poured in and mold followed. With buds that look like that I would be getting started harvesting some of em now. Maybe start to thin out the crowd to get more air in between them. Just speaking from my one and only banner year I had last year though. I know you know whats best . Good Luck Bro.

if its raining on your buds, thats worst than if it were 100% humidity. Them getting wet period .is bad. You dont get it do you? Look at the pro > FDD's ready for the down pour, are you? Im not wishing, Im just stating what might happen.

i have several plants that are really close. my leg is really sore from all this work or i would be trimming some right now. once we get thru this rain i think i'll start chopping. :bigjoint:

I think Ive bought some of that dank before. Do you grow the same strains? Any purple harvests?

hijack baby!!!! :hump:

mine got rained on last night but not too bad, next storm is the one to worry about. I couldn't get any tarp to cover the top but i covered the sides and it worked alright. they still got wet but they're not /too/ wet. I'll have a tarp up before the next storm.

i made it!!! woooooo hoooo. this is the first year i've really bothered to cover everything. next year i'm building a greenhouse in the spring. it's so nice to have dry plants in the pouring rain. :)

forecast shows 10 days of sunshine after today. upper 70's.

right on, I'm way up north towards the boarder of oregon and california, gets really windy up here and rainy towards harvest. I built a pretty good fence to support the wind and allow the possibility of hanging tarp.

talked to my fellow grower out here today and he said the rain we got didn't even hurt them, it's the next storm that we have to worry about.

MY Plants are Bone Dry but the ground is soaked just like I planned it it poured in the vally last night everything is soaked but not my ladies!! the tarp worked great!
