Norcal outdoor 2011 (saving the season)

Idk what im expecting... Id be very happy with 25-30. And no its not commercial I grow for the patients of california =] What autoflower are you doing? Ive messed around with autos one time and it was in my veg room on 18/6. The strain was diesel rider and it was amazing, I picked up just over an ounce pp with a light mover and just 2 little ladies hiding out in my girls vegging. This will be my first time growing green crack but what I hear about the specific cut I got are nothing but good things. Good luck with your autos and thanks for stopping by.

Thanks, and I'm growing Big Devil #2 (link: http://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/sweet-seeds-big-devil-2-auto/prod_3027.html) in 3 gallon pots. So far as my first grow ever they've treated me very well. I bought 3 seeds, but only chose to germ 2. Both germed in 36 hours put em in some Organic Miracle grow (woops) but they sprouted in 2 days. So far it around 3 weeks since sprouting and they're 7 inches tall. Haven't fed them any nutrients whatsoever just filtered water. Tho the miracle grow had micro nutrients, think it was something like .10 -.05 - .05 and I did add around an inch of sea soil later on which had a NPK of I think around 2 -.10 -.10 or something like that (so some extra nitrogen really). The only thing I wish was that my deck got some more sunlight, on sunny days it tops out at around 6-7 hours of direct sunlight per day. But lately weathers been on and off so its often been way under that in terms of sunlight. Overall though, I'm really happy with how my first grow ever is going (I've also never garden or grew anything in my life :P)

And yeah green cracks awesome and WAY different then the stuff I normally smoke. Long lasting, rolling high, and it smells great haha
 
does anyone have any info on how to grow in a place that isnt ideal temps for mj? for instance every1 is so impressed by the pics of the monsters that can be grown in cali. but a bird could shit a seed in cali and a 12ft plant would grow. I want to know the best ways to grow in south alabama where it is 100 degrees and 70 per cent humidity everyday does anyone have any ideas?

there are lots of strains that are from tropical climates that im sure if you looked for you would find the right ones! think of hawaii growers, there are lots of them there that grow some pretty damn good stuff, its hot and thier humidity is high! do some research on strains that are good in those climates because theres lots out there!

To be quite honest with ya man its not just that easy in ca. Not only does it get 100 for weeks at a time in the summer there is no rain at all. The humidity is really low hear which probably adds to the mold problems a lot of growers have out here. There are just a lot of good growers out here. People that have been doing it a long time remember it went medically legal in 96. I think you could grow monsters just about anywhere with a good son and decent soil. But for real I have met plenty of growers that are not nearly as successful as a lot of the people you see/read about.
 
I had one branch break from the rain this past weekend but other then that I believe everything loved it. The branch that broke is already heeling up nice and looking for the light. I added another plant that a friend gave me to try out. Its a purple diesel teen around 10 inches tall and topped. I will keep updating as much as possible but the internet at this house comes and goes when it wants to I guess. Happy 4th and enjoy your weekend errrrry body.
 
I just took the new video for the week and in the process of uploading now posted shortly. I think deciding against the heavy harvest and brewing a gang load of tea is helping like crazy. The girls are staying really green and show no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Glad to hear this. Organics is the way to go, imo. Cheaper too.

Thanks man I hope so... starting to worry about these damn bud worms everyone talks about. The location of my garden is nothing but oak trees. This is my first outdoor in ca so ive never had to worry about them in the past. I have safer caterpiller killer aswell as another product with bt. When reading about these little fuckers online it seems like there is no preventatives. I have found a bunch of places claiming that spraying before hand does not do what mad people think..whats your stance on the subject? Do you think I should start spraying? And nice garden to you aswell man... those babies are getting big

From my understanding moths lay eggs in the bud, the larvae hatch and get fat while they eat their way out of the bud. A lot of people say to spray as soon as they start budding, (I assume to get Bt in/on the bud so as soon as the larvae hatch inside, they eat it and die. As, eating Bt is the only way it's useful). But, I have also read that Bt bio-degrades fairly rapidly in the sun. So it would seem to me that spraying as a preventative measure isn't going to do a whole hell of a lot. I could see if it lasted at least 3 days or something, so you have a window. But it seemed as though it broke down much faster than that.

Furthermore, do nematodes have any effect on budworms? If used as foliar spray? Which lasts longer in the sun, nematodes or Bt?

I have 14 million nematodes waiting on just that. Ive read a grip of people saying that if you take the screens out of a pump sprayer that you can effectively spray nematodes and it seems to me they would work. Anyone with experience on the subject? +rep nice post turtle I hope we can stir up some action.

Nice looking grow bro. Just thought id chime in on the AN HH i pretty much agree with the Chronic Connoisuer the HH is way over hyped and a bit more potent than the Scott's variety at the lowes or home depot. I had mediocre results using HH last season. Ive gone organic this year and seems to be the cats meow so far. Good luck Sub'd + rep :peace: 1BMM
