This type of rationalization is typical of most people. What is most troubling is the fact that most people don't see the hypocrasy of their own attitudes towards a given subject. Even when directly confronted with it they usually become defensive and immediately shut down. Why people feel the need to interfere in others lives when they aren't harming anybody else is beyond me.

That was a nice shut down. At least pot heads get better speakers and better fact.

I find that most people have a great deal of difficulty processing ideas that deal with human nature and behavior. These kinds of debates demonstrate this quite well. People who have the ability to process these ideas find that both men are actually partially correct.

Pot smoking can and often does come with a host of negative ramifications. Often, these ramifications are not confined to the individual and do represent a problem for the rest of us. After all, the more productive every one of our citizens is, the better we are as a nation. If we all sat around getting high all day, not much would get done.

However, I do advocate decriminalization of pot because I do not feel that its use (though somewhat of a vice) warrants intrusion by the authorities into people's lives. I believe the reasonable man recognizes that pot can be a vise and can have negative consequences for society, but that these consequences are small and that there are better ways of dealing with them.

One does not need to go overboard and try to defend every aspect of pot use like the moron from NORMAL. That being said, I think anyone who would come with automatic weapons to raid someone's house over pot needs psychological counseling and ought to be tried by a war crimes tribunal.

I didn't see him defending all aspects of pot. I thought it was more comparing to what the other guy said about alcohol. lol I might need to watch it a few more times. I'm a pot head after all.

@ 0:55 of the last link it looks like a gnat on that leaf that points to 7 o'clock.

In part two of the video the herritage foundation representitive brings up the fact that the medical marijuana system is being abused by non ill patients pretending to have a illness. I was listening to NPR the other day and they were doing a special about alcohol prohibition and the loop holes for that were tremendous. Doctors could prescribe a pint of liquor a week for patients who needed it. This became such a huge thing Jack Daniels actually started printing on its label that it was for medical use only. Not only that religious groups were also exempt making it ok for alcohol to be consumed in church and synagogue. The Jewish faith at that time did not have a system setup like the catholic church where a rabbi could be anyone there was no certification. This led to massive smuggling rings using the cover of religion. Its all the same game....

Mr St Pierre (the NORML guy) makes a very good argument on the last video at 4:31, its so fucking good the other fella can do nothing but swallow. And nod.

Gosh, this forum is blessed to have someone as enlightened as you to lead the way for the rest of us. Were very impressed by the big brain on Rick here aren't we everyone? So glad to know that out of most people there are the special few like yourself who have that ability to process ideas about ourselves. Wow! Im fucking duly impressed!
