when do plants usely start to bud around the north eastern us

It all depends on the strain you are using. You want to get a very early flowering variety.I live in SE canada which would be pretty much the same I think, I grow Fastgirl which is pretty good mold resistance is pretty good but where the plant is so short and compact you have to be careful, my favorite is outdoor strain is "pink kush x blackseed" from reeferman seeds (cant remember where I ordered fastgirl just do a search) When the kush ripens it turns a nice purple and has a pretty decent yeild. Also from SE Canada. From my experience plants should be starting to flower within the next few weeks and finish up late September - mid October depending on the strain as canuck mentioned.
