WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States is capable of intercepting a North Korean missile, should it launch one in the coming days, but may choose not to if the projected trajectory shows it is not a threat, a top U.S. military commander told Congress on Tuesday.
Admiral Samuel Locklear, the commander of U.S. forces in the Pacific region, said the U.S. military believed North Korea had moved to its east coast an unspecified number of Musudan missiles, with a range of roughly 3,000-3,500 miles.
An Obama administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters "our working assumption is that there are two missiles that they may be prepared to launch" - which was in line with South Korean media reports.
Locklear said the Musudan's range was far enough to put Guam, a U.S. territory, at risk but not Hawaii or the U.S. mainland.

You say our govt doesn't care. If you aren't a US citizen you can't know. Our govt is not a person that can care. In self rule we are self serving. Enlighten self interest out to the property fences. The USA is protected by people that care about the property.

Our National govt exists not to care for individuals. We have all rights and we granted some to self-governance. Kill 1/2 of us and the other half with have your ass. That's self-rule. The needs of the few are under the 9th and 2nd, and 4th Amendments, etc. But, the USA is about the needs of the many.

Lastly are you suggesting in this tormenting logic chain that to protect some person.... to CARE, we need to waste our shots on missiles going nowhere.

We thought we could win against N. Viet Nam. But, they know the subtle war arts much better than WE. To get dragged into a ground war means N wins again. Mis-treated POWs, all kinds of dirty tricks, and horror.

I can't remember if it was Prague or Budapest, but one of those cities took all their Soviet Era statues, etc and put them in this one park.

I can't remember why they weren't just destroyed, but there was some mad reason.
