Northern Lights First Grow Hydroponic

We are going to cut out 2 watering times. It is worth a shot, from the start we were wondering how much to water them.

Seriously man, fill up that tote with hydroton. You won't be disappointed. In order for those roots to continue growing out without more medium in there, you would have to maintain 100% humidity inside there at all times. I doubt you'll be able to maintain that without a fogger.

Yea, Im not sure about the Hydroton, I have a bag and will try it if the stuff I got today doesn't help.

We picked up some new nutes and got some AquaShield , the guy told me it will keep the roots white and healthy. Had to drive an hour to get to the closest hydroponics shop, but its worth it, the guys up there are great.

Will post some pics once they hit my email.

A bunch of pictures. Hopefully the new AquaShield will help with the roots, and solve our def. issue. Pretty sure our roots are holding us back at this point. Time to get them healthy!

But what I'm saying is, even if the aqua shield keeps them "white and healthy", they still won't have the ability to grow further because there is no substrate. In aero, the very air is the substrate, but that's because it's always 100% humidity, and contains nutrient in solution in the air. I'm not trying to sound harsh, but want you to understand why I'm telling you to do that. Short of putting a fogging unit in there, there is no other way to get the roots to grow further. Time is CRITICAL at this point, so act fast.

So what your saying is to put the Hydroton inside the second level of my ebb and flow? The roots just wont hang? I have always seen the roots hanging, again, you have been helpful so far , so I have no reason to doubt you, I just want to make sure I am following what you are saying..

Yes, that's what I'm saying. Unless you can maintain 100% humidity at all times in that chamber the roots just won't grow any further. Again, I'm not an expert on flood and drain, Ebb n flow, whatever, but I've got a metric fuck-ton of experience in general. Yours isn't set up as a conventional ebb and flow.

Alright, well, again, your help is GREATLY appreciated, considering your the only one that seems to always have input. The lights are about off for the night and the last watering just ran, so tomorrow before work, I will put the hydroton inside the flood level. I have to rinse that Hydroton real well before using it right? I heard it turns everything red.

So, we have a handful of issues so far, expected, but would be great if we could start figuring some out.. Any help would be GREAT!!

The leaf spots are calcium, not magnesium.

Here are some more pics we took while putting the hydroton in ...

Pics are outside the HPS so its clearer.

Ignore this first picture's orange on the side, thats just reflectant from the HPS, the spots are what worries us.
