Northern lights from Nirvana bad experience

I'd seriously reconsider if you're thinking about buying NL from Nirvana. I was posting in another thread when I realized I should probably just tell my experience. Huge problems with yield, quality, and consistency. There are about 4 different pheno's and 2 are worthless and fluffy, the other is super susceptible to budrot. One of the fluffier phenos is a freak and has been commented on before in different posts and is also super susceptible to budrot. It's a very short clump of bud with one or two branches sticking out the top, it reminded me of a fat man lying on his back with an arm and a leg sticking up in the air and almost impossible to properly ventilate, since it's about 10 inches wide and two inches thick. The only pheno really worth a shit is a lot like the fluffy pheno but with tight buds but it doesn't yield very good.

Just wanted to share my personal exp.

I was hoping mine wouldnt turn out like that..I have 2 a little over a month in veg and they are stretchy and thin..I'm worried that they will not be able to support the buds later(hoping they pack on weight)..This post has me worried

Just finished a NL grow and was very pleased with the results. Sprouted 8 and 4 were girls. Vegged for 30 days. Did have a slight issue with mold, but that was my fault because I did not have enough air flow. Colas were super heavy and could not support the weight. Got about 3zips off a 2foot 8 bulb T5. Very frosty.

Nice..Any pics? I vegged under t5 for about a month and had them under a 400w hps for about a week gonna start to flower tomorrow maybe.

from an indoor perspective:

I also just finished nirvana NL grow, I was pleased with the results in the end, it is potent, the yield is average (not bad - not good)...I recomend to top and LST this plant..do not use FIM...I will not grow it again after this next generation but it does have good quality potent buds that are appealing, not great flavor however. I bloomed about 15 so far and it has all been identical..coming from 10 seeds initially feminized. These are not small plants as advertised, they are very large if grown straight up and they do have major focus on vertical growth with poor internode spacing. I assume they are easy to clone because I got 5 of 5 clones when typically I get 4 of 5 with other strains or sometimes 3 of 5. They finish quick at 8-9 weeks.

Overall it is not a big disappointment because the buds are appealing and have good potency and the buzz is pleasant for many, although the yield is average and the taste is nothing special I think just about anyone would be very satisfied with this strain indoors. Its not a keeper but it is a worthy grow.

yes that seems to work best, top and/or LST..because of this strains focus on vertical growth. If you grow them straight up they get very tall 5 to 6 ft in my environment, which doesn't work well for SOG without side lighting or vertical hids..

I am scrogging these girls but still stretchy

just finished 3 phenos of nirvana's nl and I am not all that impressed either. Although one did turn purple and has a real fruity smell. All were done is supersoil and only ever given water.
They are very easy to clone, But I am moving on to jack the ripper. I got the same airy type buds, they are tightening a little in curing and hopefully will be more impressive after a cure.

What kind of light did you use for flower?

I just ordered Aurora Indica from Nirvana 600w HPS wont fail me >!!!

used all the best equip. 1000watt hortilux HPS, 1500 ppm of c02 in a sealed room, have produced very topshelf with the same equipment,
I have 2 white widows that are WAY better then the NL"S. None of the 3 pheno's i got were anything like the NL I used to get years ago.

Well, whatever I did to them was not part of my beef. My issue's were with the many weird pheno's and rather average/below average yields. The best one is okay it will put you to sleep. The positive thing about the whole endeavor was they were quite tasty, like pine menthol, and pretty strong if you like couch lock.
