Not enough light!

Basically im wondering if anyone knows what will happen if you plants do not have enough light?

Stop growing?
Slowly die?
Never flower?

Im doing a 12/12 from seed to flower with very little cfls...I want to grow as many plants as possible. Just dont want to run into problems in the middle of the grow.

They stretch towards the light source. Im wondering what happens if you have a 400w hps close to the plants, considering you have the heat taken care of. loudblunts says you can burn the taste out of your weed this way? ?_?

why bother lol.. just keep the dam 400hps like 6-12 inches away... lol

Why bother? well, if you can get the light closer without burning your plant, it makes the light more intense correct? more light = more bud? correct?
