Not Gnats, Worse Fucking Root Aphids

Alright after reading a ton of posts I finally released that I have the dreaded fucking root aphids. Some have wings so this made me think gnats.

NOPE RFA Root Fucking Aphids

Apparently there are just as bad if not worse than mites!!!!!

I have 4 sour Cush girls 2 weeks from chop, they look great, but looks like yield will suffer.

I also have ww and more sour Cush in veg.

Since my girls in flower are so close they will not get treated.

But I'm going to continually hammer these fucks in veg, and if they don't all die I may have to start all over.

After doing some hunting I found that Bayer tree and shrub is the best bet for me.

I am going to do my best to blast these fucks, seems like it takes a lot to kill them.

BTW Bayer is systematic, so only use in veg or very early flwr.

Tonight I will hit these bastards with all I've got, and continue treatment on my veg girls until I harvest my ladies in flower.

I will post my method and how much I use, and the results.

I found a great thread on IC that has more info onthese fuckers than you would want to know.

Wish me luck in frying these bastards, I hate to start over!!!!

DIE YOU FUCKERS slooooowwww and painful!!!!

Well first treatment went well so far. I will say that this does kill them, now its a matter of getting rid of them all together.

I decided to go big and give each a plant a full dip to bottom of main stem at 10ml gal. I also have the concentrated landscape formula where the imid is at 2.47%. I gave each plant (ebb and flow) 3 dips each, and before returning to my tray I cleaned the res out, and the tray.

I noticed about 2-3 hrs later I had some slight burning, so then I flushed my plants with plain RO.

I will give an update again later, but these bugs are floating in my res dead.

I plan on doing this every 5-7 days to get entire life cycle. I also have some sticky traps for the left over fliers.

I still have gnats in my flower area, near my veg area. I am not treating them as they are getting chopped soon. After I chop them Im going to clean out my flower room, and wait until I dont see a single aphid before I bring my (hopefully bug free) veg girls into flower.

Hopefully this works, or I will just scrap my veg girls clean again and start over.

These things are a pain.

dude i had this recently
couldnt afford to buy any killer at the time , so let the pots dry right up it helps to kill them of and discourage more eggs its definatly slows them i got my numbers right down then finally finished them off with a killer

Here are some symptons a flowering plant may have with root aphids.

-looks like plants may finish early
-worst flower girl, has purpling leaves
-all other flowering plants look like they have a cal/mag def
-slower growth rates, and well as reduced yield

you may not even see fliers, but if you do the problem is bad. The aphids I have are black and fat, look like little tics, and some have wings. Can easily be mistaken for gnats, and normal gnat meds will not work.

A big thanks to spleebale at IC for the most detailed thread I have ever seen on these fuckers!!!!!!!

my symptoms in veg:

-wilted leaves
-slow growth
-yellow leaves
-some leaves look like they needed cal/mag

LOOK AT YOUR ROOTS if ya can

if you see little black bugs, and they seem to leave a waxy residue in your media more than likely you got em.

Depending on how the plants look, I may go at 2ml/gal in my res. I am also using Azamax and traps to kill the fliers.

if you have them I would go for what has been shown to work best so far which is IMID. The active ingredient in Bayer Tree and Shrub.

It is systemic so it stays with your plants, and travels to the new growth. I would only use this during veg, but some have used in early flower as well.

pest strips are not 100% effective for RA.

Its been about a week, and all I can say is WOW.

My vegging girls have grown more in the last week than in the last month.

This stuff works. I have not seen and RA's after this treatment.

My flower girls are getting chopped in a week, and they are infected bad. Bud looks great, but looks like a serious cal/mag def(from the aphids).

My yield has been hit the hardest, these buggers are small but they do some serious damage.
