Not Sure Where to Put this Topic but Need Help LUMATEK 100w Ballast

Hi guys I have a titan controls apollo 5 240 volt powering a 1000w lumatek ballast. For whatever reason when the timer calls for the light to be on the light will come on for 15 seconds then shut off and this cycle will continue, I found that putting the switch to 600w on ballast fixes the problem and then when it gets going I switch to 1000w. But not having a timer is killing me I am running ragged waking up so early to do manual turn on LOL any suggestions???? Im gonna call titan to see if there is something up with the timer maybe???

Open the box and take some closeups of the timer dial.
I run lumateks 1000 watt with the switches also.

What type or manufacturers bulb are you using?

Yea, I heard that lumatek had issues with certain types of bulbs a ways back. I thought that they fixed that in their newer ballasts.
Will the 1000W properly fire and light with just the ballast set to 1000W? If not, it is not a timer issue and a ballast/bulb issue.

Im using an eye hortilux 1000 mh,i cant use the regular cord becuase the outlet i put in is the special plug for the timer cord

the 1000w high ampage draw is shutting off your timer you will be drawing far too many amps for the timer at start up, you will notice (not recommended, lamp failure) that if you plug the lamp and ballast in to a normal socket and wait 15 minutes until fully hot, now unplug and insert into the timer straight away it will run ok as the draw is now only 1000w and drawing 9 amps as the lamp is fully heated up, the best you can do would be to buy a 20 amp timer. if you were 240v you wouldnt have a problem as the ampage is only 4 at normal running temp. a good timer for you would be a 3-4kw water immersion heater timer that would work perfect. and cheaper than a hydroponic version. the contacts built in to the timer will handle the high ampage no problem.

Your bulb is shot now regardless of what the problem is.
Especially with 1000 watters, the "re strike time" is very important.
Most require at least a 20 min wait before re striking.

How do you tell if the bulb is shot??? It seems to be working fine. anyhow I just realized my ballast is also 120v so i am gonna bypass the timer altogether to see if that works.
