Yes, I have always thought that a "none of the above" should be on there. I believe the last election "none" would have won.

We would be FAR better off now if that had happened.

They will call it immigration fairness act or something droll like that, but it will of course be simply amnesty for being here illegally and cutting into the proper line.

This will be done before 2012, in the hopes of keeping Obama in power. he's toast without it.

Again, the dem's have shown themselves to be quite willing to forfeit the country for their own greed of power.

I'm just informing you of what is going to happen. Again....

Just like I told you all that Congress has exempted itself from the miserable bill they force upon you all now. A bunch of you didn't believe me... (so naive). Well, this week, everyone is acting ALL surprised.... except me and those who know my accuracy on these matters is ivory high.

Just 'informing us of what is going to happen' while conveniently ignoring the fact that this idea of amnesty which 'forfeits the country for greed of power' was originally espoused by a republican.

And does your 'ivory standard' include getting this one almost completely wrong?

If we as citizens of the United States of America enjoy the benefit of a high degree of personal privacy, it is because of a pseudo fidelity to the Constitution. The farther we stray from the Constitution, the more privacy we will lose.

When you literally say the Constitution says something it doesn't, you subscribe to the concept of a living and breathing document, which is the most egregious insult you can heap on a contract.
This is you assuming I misinterpret the Constitution, which I do not.

You apparently choose to believe privacy is not an enumerated right. :dunce:

The Constitution is as relevant now as it was in 1787.

The Consitution may be amended at any time.

Living document.
The reason statists like yourself, and the penners of the Soviet Constitution, want to attempt to enshrine privacy as a right, is because it is an impossibility in a civil society. Society, by definition, involves others beside yourself. In order to maintain civility, you cannot claim as an absolute right, privacy. You need to defer to laws, John.
It has already been well-established that you are the statist, my friend.
But we both know your ploy. You infer what the Constitution means based on your own personal beliefs. Not on the original intent of the writers. You're an Alinksi-ite, John. You need to pretend to love what you hate in order to destroy it. Classic Obama/Alinski techniques.
:-P
As for your embrace of abortion, you're one sick puppy, John. Life is precious, you claim. Privacy is more precious, you claim. All killing is wrong, you claim. Abortion is a right, you claim. Statists are always hypocritical. No amount of camouflage can hide it. It's the chink in their/your armor.
I do not embrace abortion. You know this. I embrace the right to privacy, which is essential to the abortion debate.

Personally I am against abortion, but I accept the decision of the Supreme Court.

Liberty is a double-edged sword. To enjoy the benefits of liberty means you must acknowledge the freedom of other individuals to act in ways you may find unsavory.

This is not hypocrisy. It is accepting reality.

Save the babies, but kill the convicts. Now that's hypocrisy.
I know, I know, Republicans are worse...

And yes, I am one. Seeing as how I've never in my life voted Democrat, guilty by association, I guess. And damn proud of it, John.
Republicans are worse.

Your party buys into Progressive initiatives which take us farther away from liberty and freedom. Even helps them grow.

The 'My Lai' approach to governing. In order to save the Republic we must destroy it.

Kinda wants to make you party like it's 1861.

You haven't a clue have you?

You inject something from the past and pin it on me. Go blow smoke up ur own arse.

I've just told you what will happen and WHY. the reason WHY is VERY DIFFERENT.

See if you can figure it out. Try really really hard. Have someone help you...if you need it.

You are your own worst enemy.

This thread has become total awesomess!!!

CJ ignores every argument ever made by anyone who disagrees with him but pops up every once in a while to talk shit or chide someone for going off-topic.

Choda has nothing substantive to contribute, so he just throws around insults and trolls.

Johnny is pissed off enough about this legislation to swallow his pride and throw his lot in with the bible-thumpers, billionaires and angry hicks of the GOP, but gets in trouble for thinking for himself a bit too much.

Seriously, this is classic....you guys could almost be in congress!

John McCain is a self professed moderate, progressive republican. That's about as close as you can get to being democrat without actually being democrat. Nearly all of these politicians who have or want to run for president really need that hispanic vote so "espousing" amnesty while doing nothing to actually make it happen is a pretty good strategy to insure their vote. :peace:

hmmmm so you think that ALL govenment is out to get you...question ...your fire dept. is part of your government do you fear them as well....what about the DMV are they going to get you too....???? hmmmmmm how do you get out the house ...are you not frightful of those highways that are built and maintained by our government....dude its a time to fear and then there is just straight paranoia... so again I say if my child needs insurance from daddy ( or mommy) until she is 26 I say good job government for making that happen...now how lost are you little scary guy....BOO

I do not Fear the government itself. I agree that government is a good thing. There certainly is the need to govern the people. But I believe it should be done so in a just manor. I understand that in order for government to govern, money is needed and is attained through forms of revenue such as police, fire dep... Library…etc. I do not fear these forms of government revenue, I agree they are positive and are needed. I do not fear government programs designed to help and protect. I do fear a government mandated institution previously implemented and proven not to work in more than one situation. I do fear particular people’s involvement in our government. People who have lost touch with the people….the high class sustaining their positions… Agree or not there is a high level of corruption in our government. I certainly don’t want these people making decisions for me or my family. There are certain levels of involvement and too much of anything can be bad, even the herb, besides I don’t believe that our politicians plan for the people has much of the people’s benefit involved… It can be prettied up and presented, but the inside of the whole thing is awful ugly, like it or not. "Whensoever the General Government assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force"- Jefferson

Dishonest and selective editing of my posts won't redeem you, Choad.

It is clear to everyone here exactly what you are: A goosestepping partisan who will tolerate no deviation from the party line.

I am willing to help your party achieve a common goal, but you would drive me away.

In point of fact you are more of a threat to the Conservative movement than I am.
Yes I do. And, I believe that the size and scope of government correlates precisely to its intrusiveness. The larger the size and scope of government, the more intrusive.
Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause by Oath or Affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
The right to privacy holds regardless of the size of government.
I believe in equal protection; under the law, John. You don't.
And the Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land.

Which means individual states cannot arbitrarily discriminate based on sexual orientation.
I think the governments role is in enforcing contracts, not dictating the specifics of them. You do.
Denying someone the same privilege granted to another person based on bigotry is dictating the specifics.
You talking about body cavity searches, John? You can't be talking about the right to an abortion here, can you? That is some lopsided logic, if you are...
I said nothing of the sort. But dictating to a woman what she can or cannot do to her body in the context of a medical decision (abortion) is invasive nonetheless.
Freedom of religious expression needn't stop at the federal building doorstep, John. Despite your dissembling, the Constitution still guarantees that right...
It has no place in the public square. Religion is a private affair.

If you want to believe in magical, invisible, zombie friends; that's fine with me. I have a right not to be subjected to it in the halls of government.

The govt. is good when it stays within it's boundaries.

That is not the govt. we have today...not at all.

This is an all out attack on our liberties and freedom. It must not stand... it will not stand.

I think what MAY happen is passive resistance at first.

If millions of ppl refuse to participate in the health care welfare program.....it will collapse.

I will be one of those ppl. I will NOT participate. I will NOT pay any fines either....I'd rather give my lawyer 100k than a dime to the health care welfare program.

I don't think you have anything to worry about, you'll still be able to qualify for Medicaid and Social Security Disability and not pay anything, all you have to do is show them a few of your posts on here.
