hello,

i germinated seeds and placed them in rockwool cubes into drip hydro system and have correct ph and nutes.cfl's 2" away @ 80'f

do i have to cover them up with cups or something. ive just read not to give them nutes yet is that right? because i already have. im only growing 2 plants so dont want to stress them out and end up with 2 hunky males.

any help appreciated

Some people perfer to leave them in a dark humid room for a day or two until they crack then put them under light and some people keep it under 18/6 light them when it cracks 24/0 for a few days...it's up to you man. I have 2 seeds germinating right now in some rockwool in a plastic container lightly open in a dark room....that seems to work!

well i germinated them in paper towel and then put them in rockwool.

so its ok to have the nutes in their drip?

DO NOT ADD ANY NUTES!!!! (the nutes wont come for a few weeks into the veg growth)

DROP THE TEMP TO 70F

Yes cut a cup in half and place it over the plant ( like a humidity dome)

Most would go against it, plus common sense would say the nutrients do nothing during germination...no offense

dude you def shouldnt of given them nutes yet. how are they doing? are they still alive and not burnt?

so i put a cup over the pot? so dont need the light on yet then? temp staying at 80f with light on will be about 70f with it off.

ive just got them out the paper towel and put the in the system and switced it all on about 3hrs ago.

so should i start again and wait for shoots to come out of the rock wool with a cup over the top of them and no light just water for 18hrs? not to turn on light untill they brake the surface then? and nutes after 3 weeks. is that right?

I'm pretty sure although I had the lights shining on my planted seedlings for twelve hours and they came out perfectly ok so its a matter of whatever you wanna do pretty much. Ya nutrients after 3 weeks is ok but its more safe to sart on week 4. Good luck, peace
