I just got some organic fertilizer and some food that says its 5-4-5 npk ratio. Is the food ok for veg.

the actual ppm's of each is more important. for example, a 5 of N in brand x may be much different than 5 of N in brand y.

use a nutrient calculator and you'll see what i mean

2 hydro and some spouts i just planted with the soil and that mix.
