Because the linage of NYC diesel has: Hawaiian Skunk.

No need back cross it with Hawaiian Skunk or Hawaiian Sativa because I’m thinking it will only take 5 generations respectively.

Hawaiian environment has a direct impact on the plant first grow and it only evolves more over time.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Kings Kush looked like Sunken Treasure Seeds after 20 generations in Hawaii!

Shit. You should be growing real pakalolo. Not mainland genetics. My dad and his buddies still have pre green harvest strains they keep going. True poi dog genetics, stabilized. Its far stronger, longer lasting high, unbelievable terps and can grow it all 3 seasons, and if really motivated also the mini season. You can even regrow the buggers a second time.
I grow my dads pakalolo seeds on the mainland and its always stronger than anybodys name brand clones.
My first 3 years of burning was only:

Kauai Electric Powerline, Power Plant, Alaskan Thunder Fuck!

Powerline is my favorite Hawaiian strain 1 hit quit !

Get some Nepalese seeds as foundation stock. Wont be disappointed. Our Nepalese has a dominant 3 finger leaf. Its how we pick our males and females. Gassy, sweet terps. You can then redefine one hit quit. Laoatian brings in a psychedelic high to the mix. I grew many different zones on Big Island. Pahoehoe desert, cinder fields, mauka makai and windward leeward. Best zone anywhere was 2000+ ft elevation. Uncle Roberts at black sand kalapana, Ka'u Pahala, Honomu a fruit stand, and South Kona Kainaliu to Kealakekua are places to still get real Hawaiian pakalolo seeds from the bruddahs.
