all about the dtrain
they have experienced 2 night periods. i have a couple hunches but none have shown sex definitively. as in, i have used a microscope..its getting packed and will be eager to eliminate some males. ready to make more room. they are arranged in 3 rows of 3. tight and even. no room to really moves//

do i need to trim off the lower node? the one below the node i topped for four? reason i didnt cut it off was because i didnt want to stress anymore than they already were....was going to wait till 21days into flowering to clean everything up

14 days should be sufficient.....are you shooting for 8 heads?haha, did i not do it correctly?

I have attempted to use the 2 branches standing vertically for a "10 head" mainline or a "6 head" as you are attempting. it works ok, but the 2 in the middle tend to get a bit taller than the others, resulting in a little dominance.

yeah right, i usually do some super-cropping to the leaders in the middle of the canopy.....i think budman is doing more because he has some traditional growth going with complete nodes below his mains....

i have one node of growth on each branch that is untouched...so, really i have about 16leaders....i was planning on cutting all of that out though when i clean them up...21 days into flowering...i had recalled that you didnt clean em up in veg at all, but i may have misread your post..should i leave the extra two stems on each arm or should i clean those up? i believe you will see my intention of topping for eight once i clean everything up....maybe i will take some better pics tonight or the next....
exactly, i was planning on trimming all of that up...now i know next time around not to let one node grow out....i should have topped it before but i wasnt 100% SURE.....lesson learned...thankgs guys for chiming in!!!!!!

i will def wait until i have them sexed out...the stem will be some HUGE cuts...i will pass the cuts out like candy!!!!!
EDIT:
after looking at NUGS mainline thread again, i realized i skipped a node on each side and have traditional growth....i was aware of this and simply thought that was part of the clean up...regardless, after 2weeks of flowering i will be cleaning all the growth underneath the 8 main heads....i WILL have some monster cuts though...so essentially, i am working with a 16head on all 9 plants right now...sooo lets do the math...
i currently have 144 tops...after i clean everything up i will have...72....my plan all along

hey bro, if i were you, i would remove them right after bud-set....about 12 days in....you don't have to wait for 21....she will be drawing nutes and water big time with all those left on.......they are going to be awesome, bro, just a small glitch....no prob......i can't wait to see your keepers, all trimed up and ready to pack on some mass.....that tent is going to be laughably packed in a few more days! perfect, i will clean em up around day 12-14....i dont want them taking away from my main leaders...small glitch in the matrix...lesson learned...thanks for all the help and ideas nugs. you are a scholarly gentleman

Well, my last greenhouse dep girl is coming in tonight....its the mod/scrog vortex.....i was stressing cause High Times wants some shots of it, and i was in a real funk with my skills these last two weeks....tonight i said fuck it, going to give it one more try, and managed to capture the sun-ray shots, the are far from perfect, but i am pretty stoked, cause i had about 45 seconds to get something, used my built in flash dialed down to 1/8 power, made all the necessary adjustments looking into the sun and got something workable.......

....Lab Notes.........i mentioned that the Flav was a cull, but i just have to give credit where credit is due....this shit is the frosiest herb i have ever grown, and I really coundn't get a snap of it, but it is so encrusted with amber trichs....with Huge heads!.......i was wet trimming it in the sunlight, and i could see trichs fall off the wet bud!...I didn't even think that was possible....the heads are too big for my silk screen, but i may get a set of bags just for the sugar leaf that came from this plant!.....i had to scrape my fingers just from handling the stems while clipping the dry nugs off!....when Sub says he is a resin breeder, he aint fucking kidding......

Hell yea bro that Flav looks similar to the haul I trimmed a couple weeks back. I had mostly cloudy, only bout 10% amber trichomes on mine....didn't let her go to amber just because at the time I was growing a killer Indica alongside and wanted a more uplifting high from my Flav gal.
