i like to call my method "tie-stickin" ...what i do is take wooden skewers used for making kabobs and the twisty ties that come in a box of garbage bags..for the larger branches i twist the tie around 2 skewers..then i use the skewers to hold back the plant branch and place the pointy ends in the dirt up to the depth of my liking..on the smaller branches i use just one skewer to hold the plant branch back in the place i want it.....this method take alot less time than the string tie back method and its very easy to adjust ..it took me longer to explain it than to actually do it !...as you can see from the pics the plants have a "bonsai" look to them now and the side shoots will eventually turn into "main colas" ..keep on keepin on !.. :blsmoke:

Nice method.. I've done something similar before, the only problem that really arised was that the skewers moulded because they were wood and not bamboo.. Just something to watch out for..

here are a couple of updated pics a few days after "tie stickin" ..this is a NLxBB auto fem aout 23 days from seed ..the side shoots are now growing like crazy and the plant is very wide and short with about 6-8 main shoots that should develop into nice colas!...this method is the easiest way i have ever tried and re-adjusting them or adding new tie sticks only takes a few seconds yet the results can be noticed within a few hours.
