Nute burn? 21st day

This has been my first grow, and it has all been going smoothly until this morning.

I'm growing in canna coco, and have been feeding her 1/4 strength of canna coco a&b nutes from day 4, I stepped it up to about 1/3 last night, and started adding a root booster called 'goROOTS' to the described amount 2.5ml per 10L (0.4ml in 1.5L). I've been making sure to maintain a ph of 5.8. The EC was 0.8-1.0 when I tested it.

I'm growing under a 250w mh in a small tent, temps vary between 24C-29C, and humidity is roughly 50% on average.

I've flushed her with 2L of ph'ed water since, wondering what else or if I've done the right thing?

Also wondering when I should transplant next?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, love these forums.

hi irole....welcome to RIU

You are growing in coco but I didn't see you mention Cal-Mag, so I'm thinking this could be the issue, especially if your water is soft

pH is a little low but that looks like burn IMO. Grab some flushing solution like Clearex and flush her good. This is like restarting the computer for me and nutrient problems. Fixes 99% of the problems:lol:

Afterward start her back off on 1/4 strength and work her up to full. Also do what indoor sun king said!

Trim that burn off, and good luck!

Will definitely get onto some Cal-Mag in the next couple of days.
Is there anything else i can do in the meantime besides a good flush?
Thanks so much guys bongsmilie

cal-mag is very important when using coco, you should get some today,,,your pH is good at 5.8, and don't do anything drastic

i won't be able to get down to the hydro shop for a day or so, hopefully she hangs in there
i've flushed with a good 3L or so of ph'ed water so far, hoping that'll stop the nute burn at least

^I was exhausted last night man, I thought you were using soil! 5.8-6.0 is perfect for Coco!

and not 100% sure if this will work or not but hopefully someone else will chime in...since you cant get to a hydro shop and since clearex is basically sugar water, maybe you could find a recipe for a homemade flushing agent!

No matter what though, your plant will be fine so just give her what she needs and don't stress!

I haven't seen too many cases of nute burn (in my limited experience growing and researching), where I see no tips burning, and it's just affected a sligh5 few of the bigger leaves. I think you need stronger nutes. It looks like a phosphorus deficiency I had. As well as a mag def. I'd start gowing full strength.

If this occurred after adding the root nute, that is definitely the culprit. A good flush of a weak nutrient solution 3 times the amount of your container, will straighten that out. I would definitely start using some Calmag, as those leaves possibly are showing some signs of a Mag/Cal def, and you will need it sooner than later, and it will do no harm. Good luck

Managed to get down to the hydro shop today.
I flushed last night with ph'ed water and 1/4 strength nutes, the burn has definitely stopped, and didn't get much worse than the pics.

As for the Cal/Mag deficiency, i've now got soft tap water ph'ed to 5.8, a little over 1/4 strength nutes, and added some Cal-Mag,1ml to 1L as described, i figure i'll add a little less than this next time because i'm using tap water, even though it's soft?

The lower leaves have definitely started yellowing and drying out more since last night, so i think she'll appreciate some Cal-Mag :-P

Appreciate the help fellas, will let you know how everything goes :leaf:

Same exact thing happened when I used some of AN's root nutes. The roots do blow up, but it does some weird shit locking something out. I'm going to finish this run out and see if I notice any advantages, but so far all I've noticed from adding the root booster are a couple ugly leaves. Good luck!

So i've been adding Cal-Mag to my nute mix now and all is good on that front.

But now i think she may have a Nitrogen def, i'd say this could have been caused by the flush, and dropping back down to 1/4 strength nutes?
I'm thinking of adding another 1/4 of A&B to the nute mix for the next feeding.

Should i just be adding a little more N to the mix instead of upping the nute strength?

Cheers :-P

I fed her a watering of 1/4 strength nutes in attempt to stop the nitrogen def, hoping this helps
