Nute burn or another issue at hand?

In veg currently and am having some yellowing from the veins out, also some brown spots. In a closet with temps between 68-76. Humidity 28-38%. Was told it may be iron/sulfur or a possible nutrient lockout. Have lowered my PH and watering with no nutes the past week and a half. Tried a foliar spray with espom salt and no luck yet. Any ideas?

Interesting. In the last thread I made about this i was told of nutrient lockout and to stop feeding haha. Using Fox Farms trio, calmag, seaweed extract, armor SI. Ive only given very light feedings of all, the armor SI ive only used once. seaweed twice. Trio three or four times. All very light feedings. Using Fox Farms Ocean Forest. Thanks a ton for the reply.

What ph are you feeding at but still I've dealt with nutes burn and that ain't it you have a defecancy of some sort and if it's nutrient lockout you don't stop feeding that would be the ph to high or low and that's why the roots won't take up any nutes I'm thinking it's ph

Ive been feeding around 6.3-6.5 the whole grow. The last watering (no nutes) i did at 6.0 due to advice to lower PH when using Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil. The runoff last time was testing at 6.3.

And you said befor you were doing very light feedings then I'm thinking use more nutes and you said you've been feeding it water for the past week and a half then it is definitely starving and your ph dosnt seem really low with the soil I use (miracle gro) I water with a ph at around 6.5-6.8 and it's been good but like you said your using a different soil what I would do is up the nutes and give it's nutes about every 3rd watering and see if that works thats really the only thing i can see it being if its not the ph

Noted. I feel like the problems came after i started very lightly feeding. Could've just been a coincidence though. I will be watering tonight, may give them a feed.


I take it no one knows what this yellowing/browning could be hinting at then? Seems like everything i get is maybe this or maybe that but they seem to be in multiple different directions.

Assuming its not nute burn and i can cancel that out?

Yes there is no way thats nute burn it prob dosnt have enough of like everything those leafs look like shit but ik it's not a CalMag defecancy so give them more of everything

Okay noted I will definitely give another light feeding today then. Any other ideas on anything it could be? or do you think the signs point straight to a lack of nutrients?

How old are they.If your using fox farm ocean forest you should not give them anything for about their first 4 weeks you really can get by for much longer than that.If your using the trio the big bloom is all I would give them for a while.Think about using just some dr. earth and worm castings or some other organic fert you will not burn the hell out of them that way.also soil looks dry

Can't say I agree with you. Nutrient lockouts caused by nutrient salt build-up occur for two interconnected reasons.

The high ppm from the salts cause osmotic pressure away from the roots...so both nutrients and water absorption can be affected.

Plus the out of range ph...usually low like 4 low. That is caused by nutrient excess in soil.

And you are saying...keep feeding? In my mind...that would just make the problem worse.

I'm not saying this is what's going on with cheech's plant. It's what I thought it looked like weeks ago.

What you really want to know is what the soil pH is. A good soil pH pen, blue lab, apera, would likely reveal the problem and allow you to compensate fixing your issue.

In that case With the build up wouldn't he need to flush the soil or like when watering make sure to have a 20% run off then? You definitely know more about this stuff then me I'm still sort of a beginner only been doing this for about a year and I've never had an issue like his with my plants so don't know 100% what to do and thank you because this help me out too

I havnt fed within the past 2 weeks. Just giving water with a lower PH around 6 from what was suggestion in that last thread. Have been watering to about 15% runoff everytime with the runoff testing around 6.3. The problem doesnt seem to be getting better and seems to be getting worse honestly. Before that the only few feedings i did were so light they shouldnt have caused any issues. Ive had my plants in these pots for a month now. Seems to me its growing quite slowly too.

I am going to water tonight and am thinking of giving them a light feeding..

@JohnDee Being that this is the same if not worse it looked weeks ago would you suggest feeding very light veg nutes then?

Espom salt foliar spray didnt seem to do much and have been giving only water the past 2 weeks.

all I can say it's a defecancy of some sort if it's not the ph or a salt build up and it's def not nute burn then i dont know im baffled ive never seen a plant like this befor and i know im not an expert of any sorts but still it seems like your doing everything right

The FFOF is probably somewhat washed out from all the runoff. Truthfully I haven't kept up...thought you needed fresh eyes.

Feed a balanced feeding if you do...none of the "little bit if this...little bit of that" I just use a one part powder and keep nutes really low and do fine...but am in coco. No more then 1/2 strength since they are already sickly. Sorry I haven't been much help...

@JohnDee Thanks for the response man and in the last thread as well. All conversation helps me think things through and hope more people see it to offer advice. I did my same 1/2 strength nute feeding of big bloom and cal mag. Runoff ph is 6.6 . Took out all my plants to check out and noticed something quite suspicious on one... Powder mildew strikes again? Wonder if i should be getting rid of this one, dont want to contam the rest. A bit on the stem but nothing on the leaves from what I see. Ideas?
