Nutes for autoflower

So I noticed a little "ring" shaped very small outer yellow color on the leaf. Also very faint yellow down the crease of one leaf. I'm wondering if it might be time to add nutes or not. It sprouted 1-28-15 and it has a few nodes and I think it's 3rd set of leaves. I just watered yesterday, should I water a little again with nutes or wait. It's an auto flower WW. Bottom set of leaves are kind of droopy.

It sounds safe to do, just go very light on the nutes the first time. Make sure your container has drain holes in the bottom.

Yes 25%. Make sure to ph your water/fert solution to ph ~6. Deciding when to water: you should lift up the container, if it feels light it needs to be watered. If it is still heavy from previous watering, then do not water. You want the plant to dry out a little bit between waterings. When you water, always add enough water so that is leaks out the bottom of your container. That way you are sure the bottom part of pot is moist and roots will love it.

Thanks for the help! Yeah my PH has been a little high like 7-7.8 so I am using apple vinegar mixed with my well water to bring down the PH.

What grow medium are you using?
In my opinion, I am not sure that autos really need any veg nutes if potted in quality soil. I have to believe that there is plenty of N in a bag of Fox Farms to last a long time. That being said it certainly doesn't hurt to use 25% nutes as long as what you are seeing is not in fact stress from already hot soil..

Autos require a slightly different nute protocol due to their scheduled lifespan. There are a few posts that recommend a feeding schedule specifically for autos.

I'm a fan of autos. The best buds I have grown so far have been auto. "Set it and forget it".. I like that.

I put my germinated seed directly into Fox Farm Ocean Forest. Most said that it was to hot for seedlings. I flushed the soil a little before planting and it did great. So I'm not entirely sure how much nutes are left. I think I will give it a couple days when I water next to add a really small dose of Fox Farm Grow Big. I just got an LED light today from Amazon, Apollo Herticulture UFO LED 109 watt actual output, was using CFLs (4) of them which was over 200 actual watts, think the yellow ring on the leaf was from heat stress. Tent got a lil hot at one point. The leaves were also a little droopy and some yellowing don't know if it is heat related, but ever since I put the LED in this morning and just checked it looks great.leaves are perky and everything plus temps are staying 72f. Had gone up to 90f with CFL a few days ago which is not good. Btw I have great ventilation except my inline fan is existing into the same room so the air is not being replaced with AC fast enough. Gonna order another LED tonight.

Nice! sounds awesome! I'm excited to hear how the Apollos perform. MARS hydro LED's have been recommended to me also so maybe check those out..

Lets see a pic of the setup!

Yea, my fan vents into the same room that my tent is in. It isn't ideal, but it is what it is.. We do the best we can with what we have.

Also, how much cooler is 100w of LED over 100w of CFL? Is it like you have no heat at all? Or is it just much less heat? If you shut off your fan would the tent still heat up? I'm thinking of getting the Mars Hydro for Veg.

Yeah so far I am liking the LED. Still time should be the judge, but they seem to do what they are suppose to do very well. The Apollo have 3 watt Epistar chips which I was told to look for though they are actually running at something like 2 Watt to improve the lifespan of the unit. I also hear that MARS hydro was very good. The Apollo 180W (actually 109W) was fairly cheap at about $100 USD. This is the one I got right HERE. and as far as temps go without any ventilation, they run cool to the touch, but are slightly warm. The fan at the top is pushing air out of the LED but again is just a little warm, about the same heat that comes out of the back of a desktop computer. I just closed the tent, a small tent btw its like 2x3x4 or something I don't remember, for about 30 minutes and it steadied out at 81f, but remember thats only with 1 LED system running. When I have two it's gonna be a little warmer. My 105 watt CFL bulb you see in the picture gets rather hot once its been going for a few minutes, can keep hand on it for a few seconds before it becomes uncomfortable. The LED I could leave my hand on it all day. Now if I left my CFL running with no ventilation the tent would be in the high 90's maybe even in the 100s. So I would say there is at least a 10-15f difference in temps in the tent. Currently the LED with vent is staying about 72f, the CFL was staying around 82f sometimes higher. Here are some pictures... And don't laugh at the carbon filter haha, it was $13 to make, beats $50+ for ones on Amazon, and is doing a good job so far, though when she starts to get smelly we will see. If anyone is wondering it is just two mesh pencil cups with activated carbon and panty hoes, theres a tutorial somewhere.P1000805.jpg P1000816.jpg P1000817.jpg P1000825.jpg P1000828.jpg

yea, looks like a great setup!

Do you think you need two UFOs? Is 1 just not enough light?

I can't see your fan. What are you using to ventilate? Yea, I saw that tutorial a few times when I was working on a small box.. It could work. Better than nothing for sure... Weed gets pretty smelly.

Well it's only 109watts so I want more watts for bigger yield. So I think two should be perfect. It's an active air 6" inline.

Yea, two will likely be better... Should get a real nice harvest. Ahh, I see your fan.. It's not connected to filter or it is?

If you have an air purifier hanging around you could always put that inside your tent to act as a scrubber. I took a holmes air purifier and fortified the filter with charcoal. It works pretty dang well... I just have it on my veg box. Goodwill always has these things for like $5. They even have a bunch of ionic breezes for $7..

The filter idea is interesting! I might try that sometime. I like to try different things. Yes the filter is there It is sucking from the inside its at the top inside the tent the blue thing with a red bungee cord holding it lol I wish goodwill was closer to me but I have to drive like 30 miles to find one.

I grow nothing but autos now for time sake. I give them one dose of Veg nutes at 3 weeks then it's all flowering nutes after that. Has worked well for me but as I've been known to say time and again I don't give a shit about my leaves it's the Bud I'm concerned with and so far good, in the 3 plus years of growing it has worked well for me.

Yep, 70 days from seed and you have some good buds.. I like that about autos. They just grow..

Yeah it is nice! I'll definitely keep you updated on the result. Hoping for good yeild. We will see. The growth the last couple days have been violent from a couple to multiple leaves, from small to big so fast. Crazy how these things grow so fast! I'm really enjoying my first experience of growing even if I don't yield good it was worth it. But I think I should do good.
