dont let the rockwool sit in the water, just the hydroton, u want the roots to seek the water and grow out of the pots

welll.. that didnt work to well finally got my net pots and a new pump and some hydrocron rocks.. can anyone tell me how i could secure the tubes down so they drip water on my rockwool.. they seems to just shoot all over the place or move around on there own..

should i submurge the netpots deep enough so that water in the tub is always on the rockwool?

right now my tubes just seem to shoot all over the place even when i adjust them.

i used the little hole in the net pot that was just big enough for the tube, mine held tight. Depending on the sixe of your net pots, you should have the rockwool top be at half way in your net pot. First put in the hydroton, then insert rockwool, put tube through netpot and directly touching side of rockwool, then add rest of hydroton, rockwool should be covered. If you don't cover it and put the rockwool down deeper than recommended then you will have more of a problem with the plant tipping over when it gets bigger

I recommend you use rapid rooter plugs from now on, way better than any medium i have used

soaking rockwool is time consuming and pointless when you can germinate, start, and grow seed or clone in rapid rooter plugs, perfect air-to-water ratio, hard to over water them because it only hold so much water, and you only need to rehydrate every 2-3 days....cake

so no matter how much water you pour on that rapid rooter plug every 2-3 days, it will always contain just the right amount of water PERFECTION

rapid rooter plugs are they the same thing as Jiffy Pelts? i bought 20 of them they puff up about 1-2 inches do they work long term in a bubbler/dripping system? or will they disappear after awhile.. i put 6 seeds in them 5 had roots today but they are SOOO tiny compared to the onse i put in the rockwool/bubbler... so far 4/5 of my bubbler onse are out of the rockwool now and the other 6 from the jiffy pelts i just stuck in a bubbler today. no drip. the roots are only like 1mm big lol.

i just got my 400watt hps but the damn bulb was broken :(

BTW this is my first time growing with a half decent setup any help appreciated.

edit: here is some nutes i picked up today any idea if its worth using them??

10-52-10 i sprinkled 10ml of it.. in my tub.. it says to use 5ml per 1 litre so im way below what it recommends just wanted to see i guess.

they are similar, jiffy plugs come compressed and nearly totally dry, rapid rooter plugs are not dry, they are made of tree bark or some shit, however you do need to rehydrate them.

How long did it take for you to root in your bubbler? Do you have the water turning off when it is lights off??

right now its 24/7 light and 24/7 bubbler and dripper in the end it was pretty much the same speed as the germinating them in a paper towel it just seemed to pop out faster maby about a day faster and bigger then the rest.

Wow are my plants ever growing freaking slow whats going on been like 13 days and my biggest one is a measley 1.5 inches?? lol

Hoots,

I have the bubbleponic system and am having great success. Let me give you some advice that may help. The dimensions of the 6 plant setup is listed below. Second, the tubes coming from your water pump should come up through the bottom through the hydroton to the bottom of the rockwool. Not from the sides or tops! If you lift up the rockwool you should set the tube below it. I use about 1/4 nutes when I first fill it up and put my seedlings in. Two weeks after that I drain and put in the other 3/4 for two weeks. After the veg phase I go with full strength flower solution and change it out after a month. Two weeks before you harvest you want to drain the solution and use distilled water. It will help clear the plant of any impurities and give you a cleaner smoother smoke. Once your roots have hit the water in the bottom reservoir you want to set your water pump timer to come on for 3 minutes every hour. Hope this helps.

oh so you DONT want the water pump to continuously pump water to the plants? will that drown them? or do you mean turn the bubbler on for only 3 minutes every hour?

right now i got water flowing to the plants and bubbler bubbling away 24/7 today 2 of my plants are on there 3rd set of leaves and 2 roots are now into the water.. still VERY tiny guys.. guess thats lowryders for you.. the kush seed seems to be getting bigger faster though.

for my 3rd try i made a 3rd tub today for 6 more seeds this time the tubes seems firm in place but is this going to give them TOO much water? also i added 3 Bubbler sticks to this one.

waiting for the seeds in paper towel to sprout something. then into rockwool and under 24/7 light.

actually if you want to take the water pump out completely when the roots hit the water you would be just fine. The water pump is only meant to give the seedlings a constant supply of water. When the roots start growing into the reservoir if you leave the water pump on it can actually hurt your plants. I have heard some people recommend changing the nutes every week. It is pretty difficult for me to do that so I go with a less frequent nute schedule. You probably should do more often than monthly but it is working good enough for me. Hope this helps.
