nutrient debate

advanced nutrients is the only nutrient manufacturer who publicly advertises their products as scientifically designed for growing medicinal cannabis. anyone can grow dank without them but if you got the $ to drop that's my recommendation for an ideal choice.

only other nutrients i've used personally is general hydroponics floranova and personally i think that stuff is crap so i'd recommend avoiding that stuff.

most guys say the nutes you use don't matter but that's bullshit. it matters to your plants health what they eat just as much as it matters to your health what you eat. inferior nutrients will be less pH stable, less shelf stable and provide imbalanced nutrition. even expensive nutrients designed for vegetables may cheat your plants out of their potential. best thing to do is look online at cannabis plant nutritional needs and find a fetilizer that matches that.

i'm vegging with advanced nutrients sensi grow a+b, nirvana, and superthrive and i use general hydroponics pH up and down because they're cheap.

this question is the topic of many heated debates and childish arguments, hopefully this thread won't end that way too.

Hesi............(advertised as a MARIJUANA nutrient, dont know where you got your info from?)
i've seen hesi products but i've never seen them advertised as being for weed.

i didn't say an is the only stuff for weed, just that an is the only stuff PUBLICLY ADVERTISED as being for growing medicinal cannabis.

you're right though - i should say an is the only stuff I'VE SEEN advertised for growing weed.

Hesi products have ''cannabis cup winner 2007/8'' etc plastered all over them and are used by all the big growers in Amsterdam. I have used many products and have found them to be the best I can get here. All the nutes from across the pond cost the earth to ship so I cant comment on there quality. Fox farms seems to be popular.:weed:

I use Botanicaire Pro series as my backbone nutes and id reccomend them to anyone especially growing in DWC.
Also check out Cal-Mag as a supplement nute for flowering.
Peace.

i'll have to look more closely at hesi then. i went to their website and didn't notice anything cannabis specific but then again an doesn't put it on their site in huge bright letters...

use sensi a+b and you will never need the cal/mg again. sensi is designed to be used with pure water and provides proper levels of secondary nutrients for cannabis.

you need to decide if you want organic or not because many of these nutrients are not organic if it matters to you. I use Fox Farm with no complaints, but find my self going more organic these days

i think organic growing is a bunch of BS....as long as you flush for a solid 2 weeks before harvesting the difference is most likely negligible- synthetic nutes are mostly composed of basic elements (P,N,K) with only trace amounts of stabilizers
