The biggest effect of Obama on race politics may be that he has used up most or all of the reservoir of white guilt on which the diversity industrial complex has been thriving for years. Polling already shows that people are much less willing to accept that we need to make up for past discrimination, now that we have elected a black president. That does not harbor well for affirmative action and race-based preferences in the future. Obama may have eaten what was left of black america's free lunch. For a bit of anecdotal evidence, look at the attempts to tie Obamacare to, what else? racism. What are those who oppose this stupid plan? They are racists. But it isn't sticking this time. The chicken little effect.

We'll stop bitching when we don't make up to 57% of the Us' prison population but we only make up 13% of the US population. We'll stop bitching when we stop getting pulled over for being black. We'll stop bitching when we are represented properly in positions of power. We'll stop bitching when we get the same funding for our school systems as white people. We'll stop bitching when we get shown the same houses that white people get shown. We'll stop bitching when They stop the stop and frisk programs that go on in America today. We'll stop bitching when there is more than one black man in the Senate. We'll stop bitching when people like you roll over and die. Get a life people that aren't in an African American's shoes will never understand. Get a life.

How is it free lunch when our ancestors built this country. How is it free lunch when the money from our impoverished neighborhoods go to pay for schools we can't even get into? How is it free lunch when we pay taxes just like everyone else but we don't get the same quality services? How is it free lunch, you know what I'm gonna leave it alone. You'll continue to think along the lines of a non african american. Live a life in our shoes some day. It might surprise you. As far as white guilt I wouldn't expect you to have it. I would expect you to realize that your ancestors if they are from America, still to this day still reap benefits from slavery and jim crowe laws. My ancestors never were bankers, real estate brokers, land owners, or busines owners. We weren't allowed to yours were. Your ancestors were allowed to have wealth that passes through time. We weren't allowed to have these same rights as yours. White people owned the land, political structure, and banks; anyone who wasn't white didn't have these foundations to build upon. When you got out of school a structure was already set for you and you ancestors. When we go for an interview 6-9/10 times the person we're talking to is white. People identify with people and are comfortable with their own, this is human nature. So without laws like Affirmative action the job scene would look like college football coaches, all white with a mostly African American workforce, no representation. What makes the whole thing worse, you're part Native American. I would think you knew better. It's a damn shame my grandmother would be very ashamed of you. But hey that's you.

I do know better that's why I've said what I said and why I don't want to see native americans sucked into the victimhood status that black america seems to have embraced and holding their hands out for scraps from the democrat party. I don't know how many times I have heard white people say - we need affirmative action because "they" can't compete on a level playing field." That's what is known as the soft bigotry of low expectation and that's what's hurting black america, in my white opinion.

Knowone is playing the victim cards. You're only a victim if you let yourself be. If you fight for what is rightfully yours you're exhibiting strength . But oh well I won't argue with you, you have your beliefs. I hope your Native American relatives are well taken care of and are not living in places like mine are. But I identify as a black man so I shouldn't worry about them.

Hey Softwhite, help me figure this out.

Black people want equal rights, but special priviliges. i.e. minority priviliges, special school funding and acceptance, a black enetertainment channel, black magazines, black this black that, or African American this African American that. I don't see any white tv channels or the like, nor do I want to.

Black people want equal rights, but special titles. i.e. African American, how many black Americans have been to Africa? Why differentiate yourself from the rest of Americans? I don't expect to be called a European American or a White American.

Blacks want to be treated equal but in a seperate kind of way. "That will never work, it has to be totally equal if you ever want equality." Those are not my words, this came from a 60 year old African American History professor, an old black guy.

True equality would kill the race card, I think many would hate to see it dissappear. What do you think?

Without reading the thread I know this post is sarcasm. Those of you reacting strongly to it can't see that he is sarcastically accusing Obama of everything that Obama supporters accuse Obama opposition to be. Racist. With no evidence and NO room for debate. That MUST be why white people dislike his political ideologies and all black people like his ideologies or they are not black.

Most African Americans want equality but don't want to own up to their own shortcomings. I'm a retired firefighter and there was a black firefighters organization (can't think of what it was called but it was something along those lines). If we had tried to start a white firefighters organization we would've been labelled racist. Affirmative action and political correctness, white mans guilt..........it's all bullshit and we should all be called what we are...........human beings. Not African American, or Latino, but human beings. Not caucasian or Asian or Native American.............human beings. Most blacks don't want equality. They want special treatment. Go ahead and call me a racist but I saw this shit all the time. Every time a black guy got into trouble at work they would say "You are doing this because I'm black!" If a black guy got fired you can bet the department would get sued on grounds of discrimination. Even though Many, many black people were selected for advancement even though they didn't have the test scores or seniority of their white counterparts (there was a supreme court ruling on this very thing and they ruled that it was wrong as well). If someone is being singled out for being black that's one thing, but when you have a black guy who is late every fucking shift and gets written up after the 50th time being late and they scream "It's because I'm black!" then there is a double standard. This whole subject just pisses me off.............:cuss:
