I put my clones in the dirt when they were about 10in high in mid April....they will be due in 2 weeks...cola's just startin' to fill out...they get flushed as of Oct 1....8-10 days is plenty...some don't flush at all...personal preference...lots of that goin' around...good harvest to you!!!

Let them get nice and riiiiipe. flush about ten days before hand when they are just about right. Good things come to those who wait. You need to be checking your trichomes. Read up on harvesting, it's that simple, and don't jump the gun. You've waited this long...

im flushing 6 days before harvest with clear-x.
I use organics but the nuts will gunk up your pipe.

Im watching lots of plants eat all the fan leafs so they are flushing their selves.

Yea by mid flowering you want the fan leaves to start turning yellow and by the end you want a good amount of the fan leaves dying off. If there still a healthy green by the time your looking to flush that means it probably got too much nitrogen during the flowering process.

so I got a newbie question. If there are fan leaves that are still quite green by the end of the flowering, you said it means they got too much nitrogen. What is the problem with getting too much Nitrogen?

The problem with too much nitrogen during the budding cycle is that N promotes leaf growth so do you want your plants energy to be put into the leaves or the buds? You do want some N during the first half of the flowering cycle but by the 2nd half it should be cut out if possible. It's not going to do any harm its just not where you want your plants efforts being directed if that makes sense.

I would assume, with 3-5 weeks left in the season, I would consider it to be in the 2nd half of flowering, and thereore little to no N...agree?

Al right guys, thanks yes planted as 6 in. Clones in June some July
So all cycle the leafs have been healthy green is that a reason why buds are taking longer to finish? So I stopped all nutes
A week ago, now just molasses and tea. Most r still slot of white pistils, some have almost all hairs red. Yea I know about the tricks for indicas and sativa

so when flushing, do you flush out every day or as they need watering? Also if i have 5 to 7 gal. buckets, how much water? and last, do you ph your water when you flush?

agreed by week 4-5 no more nitrogen should be fed. Plenty of molasses though the plant really use the carbs to fatten up the buds. I never ph my water though i probably should, ive just never really had ph issues. For flushing i would maybe water a little more than normal but everyday seems a little excessive. Every 2-4 days should be just fine.

You definitely don't want to water your plants everyday to flush them, this will cause root rot or a number of other problems. What you should do is to thoroughly water your plant (3-5x the normal amount you would water it) and then let it dry out. This could take anywhere from 3-7 days, depending on your soils water retention - you can test for this by sticking your finger deep into the soil to see if its still moist. Once its dried out, repeat the watering process again. Again, after it dries out, you should notice a lot of your fan leaves are yellow or yellowing. This is roughly when its ready to be taken down.
