Anybody know what these knots are on my plant? They are on the first 3 sets of stems so far. I cant find anything out about these. Also can anybody tell if there is any kind of deficiency by my pics? I'm new to growing and am trying to get things right on this one before I start trying for a bigger crop. Shes only about 9 in tall but a good foot around all the way. She will be 4 wk this coming Wed. When should I go to 18/6? Please somebody try to help. My last post got viewed 40 times but not a single reply.

Where each branch meats the main stem is where its fed its nutrients. Picture a plumbing pipe, at random intervals there are little valves that allow water to go down side branches. In your case you have giant 2 hand steel twist knobs found on submarine doors =D Its a good thing. Happens most of the time when you cut off a fan leaf close to the branch, scar tissue but pumps lots of juices to your branches.

Thanks quietguy, I thought I might have some sort of freak plant growing, I feel a lot better about her now.

New Grower, I'm using 24-0 rite now because my room isn't completely sealed off. I've been told that during the dark not to have any light coming in so I've been waiting til I have that taken care of. I'm taking care of that issue tonight and she'll be on 18-6. Thats when I'll see the good growth right?

Thanks for the response guys.

dark period matters the most in flowering, and actully i've read that 24/0 is good through the whole veg period im shure it would cost an arm and a leg in electric but it can be done.

I started on 24/0 and switched to 18/6 to save on electricity. To be honest I really don't notice a diff but I'm growing several strains in several different stages of growth constantly new plants in there so hard to keep track. I certainly haven't seen a reduction in growth.
