Odor Control Question

i just came from the hydro store and got the waterfarm 8-pack and my lights etc. etc. now, that i'm home i realized i forgot to get some odor control. i know about Ona gel and that's about it but, i'm doing a somewhat commercial, with larger plants, so, i know odor will be a issue. i've heard about this carbon scrubber shit, but, i don't know how to set it up and how to properly go about running it and so forth and so forth. i have three ionic breezes throughout the house for normal odor control but, i was wondering if i bought an industrial type air purifier would that do the job. i looked at one online yesterday, i'll try and find the link but, i'm not purchasing any equipment online anyway. i was high when i went to the dro store and didn't want to just be like, yeah, i'm about two grow some shit of pounds, but, i think i could've because, i called before hand and asked did they have the 8-pack and then when i got there the guy was telling me about mods and advantages and disadvantages. anyway, i'm high as a bitch and i know i'm rambling so, here is my attitude and question. i don't want to hook up shit, i just want to have something that kills ALL traces of herb odor, that is also low maintenance and preferably plugged in, what are my options?:confused::confused:

Look at inline fans with a carbon filter, I just got a 6" 424cfm inline fan with a 16" carbon filter, it was filled with about 10lbs of carbon, it was ready to go. I just put the filter on the floor put the fan on top plugeed it in and in about 10 mins there was no smell in my basement. I believe the difference between a carbon filter and a carbon scrubber is which end you put the filter on, if you put it on the intake side of the fan it recirculates the air in the grow room and they call that the scrubber, put it on the exhaust side its just a filter. Either way it works great!!!!!

Odor should not be a problem for a while yet with what you have in place. The advantage to the carbon scrubber is that your exhaust air, the air you put outside of your grow area will not have any smell. VV

sounds cheap and easy. but, i'm confused as i don't know or haven't seen it setup. i need to know where to get the equipment and how to do it. so, go to a lowe's and buy a covered duct type fan or what? please, excuse the noobness i just don't understand exactly how it needs to be setup. i understand how it works i just haven't seen one in person to say oh, i got it nothing to it.

i'm not going to have exhaust air. i don't know what you know about the semi-conductor industry but, i'm trying to have something similar to a clean room. i'm going to put humidifiers, air purifiers, and fans to control the environment. i'm going to be growing afgan kush and chem haze sour d and i know smell will still probably be an issue due to the various journals i've studied from extremely experienced growers. i basically want to keep the air in the area self contained with mediums that keep the air moving and fresh.

yeah, i just came from the dro store. the guy was cool as shit and he probably knew i was gearing up for a grow but, he won't hear it from me. i don't know why i forgot to take care of this when i was there in the first place, the experience was a little overwhelming. i think i'm a go back today or tomorrow and get something to take care of the issue. i know i'll get the money back but, i don't like buying things that are expensive overkill, what about that Ona gel, any experiences?

No but I wouldn't think it would work for a bigger area, at least with the fans it has air movement, I think of the ona gel as a fancy renuzit air freshner, may smell good up close but then after a couple weeks its all dried up.

yeah, i kind of figured that.

i looked at that yesterday when i was contemplating what i was going to do about odor control. see, i can do all that diy shit, but, i'm a lazy ass person. i'd rather pay someone to cut my grass, instead of cutting it myself. what do you attach the carbon scrubber up to? it just seems like i have to do too much, that's why i got the waterfarm, so, everything is low maintenance, easy setup. i just want something i can go buy plug in and walk away, i know i'm not the first person who's thought of this. i'm a go back to the dro store in the morning and see what my options are. good looking everyone on the information.

Clean rooms have been around before semi-conductors

But anyways. If its a sealed room, why worry about smell?
I've never heard of a plant complaining about the stench.

never said they weren't.

why worry about smell? security that's why. what i'm growing is very very stinky. Rez's gear. every journal i've seen for this particular stain stressed the fact of odor control along with Rez himself. security is important to me, that's why.

okay, i googled it and the bio states it comes with a power cord and connection is required. so, did you just plug yours in and forget about it?

Exactly. Mine just sits on the floor and the canfan pulls thru the filter and exhausts into the room. I may mount it up higher later, but its working fine the way it is. If you want, you can exhaust it outside the room, but its not necessary. Zero smell. It does make some noise, but thats not a concern for me.

I have used a gallon bucket of ona gel in a five gallon bucket with a muffin fan on top. Videoman40, no longer a memeber posted it, cost less than $60 to make it including the gallon of Ona that is $40.00. I know I have just a small grow, I only have 100 or so plants in flowering and the room is small not quite 12 x 20 feet so I probably have no idea what I am talking about. VV

I have 3 of these bags hanging from the ceiling of my grow room.
They work......
Not even a hint of smell.
You cam buy them at HD for about $10 each.
