I read the bill, understood it fully and voted yes, I think it would have been great, howerver it may put some growers out of buisness. Its not like you can make a reasonable living off selling dope, you still need supplemental income unless your moving serious weight every week.

We had a great "No" party. Were so glad to have the likes of Richard Lee not invading our community with lop sided laws for the corporate few and his oligarchy of pot.
Tell you what, You can have 25 cookies but Richard lee wanted 60,000 cookies and people would actually vote yes? Not in my State.

My hat's off to Jay for nailing it down so perfectly, and in just three sentences. Bravo.

Oakland developer and business person Jeff Wilcox, who is new to the marijuana industry, has been aggressively pushing to create a massive cannabis growing and manufacturing facility on his 7.4-acre warehouse complex near the Oakland Coliseum, covering 172,000 square feet over four buildings.
There were 4 such mega industrial complexes planned in Oakland alone.

"I think this will help Prop. 19 pass and help Oakland be ready when it does," Lee said, voicing support for Wilcox and other business people who seek to join this movement.
The measure would permit growing facilities of more than 100,000 square feet, charging them each a $5,000 permit fee and $211,000 "regulatory fee," as well as a gross receipts tax to be determined. The Oakland City Council approved the measure July 20 after Kaplan agreed to have staff also create a permit system for smaller growers,

Oaksterdam University founder Richard Lee, who bankrolled the campaign to place Prop. 19 on the ballot, supports Kaplan's regulations

Yep, Richard Lee would have made a fortune.
The same can be said for the authors of 215, they are millionaires now.

Huh...do people really grow without a script??????? (in Cali) Cuz it's not like you gotta be dying of cancer to benefit from MMJ...I think the cookie monster is like the chupacabra and bigfoot...anybody ever seen one????? Probably good for selling beef jerky and veiled prohibition:roll:

That is a cop-out.
Yes, I have a script.

Then this is what??? Scare tactics??? Cuz nobody grows without a script, and getting one is cheaper and safer than paying the tax and allowing inspector do-right and his measuring tape into your house/garden.

You need a license to get married, drive a car, or be a dog...I am not saying it is right...just let's not make it any worse...don't throw the baby out with the bath water!

Pot should be as Mr Banton says...free. It is not a controlled substance...it should not be controlled...it is a natural herb...It 'aint zanex or booze...not even close, pretending that it is to avoid the $100 ticket that I have avoided for 17 years without really even trying in cali is silly.

Scare tacitics?
If the truth puts fear in your stomach, then I suppose so.
You should never make absolute statements like "Nobody grows withou a script..", that's simply untrue.

That sentence about licenses and baby's bath water, I see no connection.:?:

Marijuana is a controlled substance. In fact, it is Schedule 1.
It is in fact, not an herb!
It's a fibrous flowering plant, with far more uses then any other fiber on the planet.
But, to say it's just a plant, is to say opium poppy's are just latex.:dunce:

You're right, my apologies there...Anyone who does may possibly be a drug dealer, an idiot, and maybe
both.

Prop 19 made marijuana less legal in many people eyes with the exception of the 25sqft that those who for whatever reason do not want to grow for their health, but because they want to get fucked up. Unless you are hiding inside, like we have to now anyway, 25 sq ft is entirely too restrictive for outdoor growing (as if it were legal)...so the legalization of growing was pointless (Actually it had a great point...it was the carrot that Dickhead Lee dangled in front of all of us in order to help him become very wealthy. Personally I do not feel like helping him in this endeavor.
Marijuana is a controlled substance. In fact, it is Class 1.
Come on now...If you do not think that Cannabis is improperly scheduled...then what are you doing here???
It is in fact, not an herb!
It's a fibrous flowering plant
So is Rosemary...you're being silly.

, with far more uses then any other fiber on the planet.
preaching to the crowd here dude.

But, to say it's just a plant, is to say opium poppy's are just latex.:dunce:
So you are a stickler for proper classification of woody and herbaceous plants and making absolute statements but now Cannabis is NOT a plant:dunce:

But yes figuratively Cannabis is much more than a fibrous plant that can save the planet and a few humans...it has been the poster child for a failed war on people...for one simple reason...it is Classified wrong!...back to one of the many problems with 19, it should not be a controlled substance...It IS a plant.

Poppy's are just plants too...they are pretty. You could buy them at the local Home Depot until a few months ago.

And IMO if you want to take any of the woody or herbaceous plants and do whatever to them and then shove that shit in your ass, vein, nose, eye socket, or whatever else you want to do to yourself, is just fine with me...It should be your right as a human. Unnatural Selection has been an infection on the species

25sq ft. is far less restrictive then the status quo. I agree it should have been more towards 100 sq.ft., or higher. My outdoor garden was 200 sq.ft. this year.

Come on now...If you do not think that Cannabis is improperly scheduled...then what are you doing here???
I know it is improperly scheduled.
I just don't deny that it is a controlled substance.

So is Rosemary...you're being silly.
You may find it silly. But I smoke flowers. Not weeds, or herbs.

preaching to the crowd here dude.
No doubt!

Absolutely. But you can't change the world in a day. IMO, Prop 19 was a big fucking step, and California just tripped on it.

Poppy's are just plants too...they are pretty. You could buy them at the local Home Depot until a few months ago.
Just pretend like you don't see the correlation, it will go away.
