Those rogue police officers represent all police, just like these guys represent all pot growers:http://allthingscrimeblog.com/2013/07/27/northern-california-pot-growers-sexually-abuse-underage-l-a-girl-lock-her-in-metal-box/

First, police abuse is more common than molestation by groups of pot growers.

Second, unfortunately, you're right. that does represent all of us. Every time a story is published about a person, good or bad, that person is a temporary representative for their communities.

Those tweaker tards that blow themselves up making BHO? That's also representative of us. So, I guess we need to work on getting stories out, about some of the better growers!

theres probably more than one
I'm sure there is, just like I'm sure there are more than one group of asshole cops as depicted in the clip I posted

The argument isn't in numbers, it's in quality. We have many police officers, hardly any quality ones, and far more asshole ones

Cops are like referees, you always remember the bad ones, & you never even notice the good ones......

when I mustered out the crotch in 77, I applied for a city cop and a city firefighter job the same day. just happened the FD called me in first. most of calls ive made, I had to deal with the cops and see them in action. I wouldn't have made a good cop, power would have went to my head. I think this is what happens to some, they forget who they really are. but for the most part I thank cops for what they do.

Most of the police experiences you have are with cops that were recruited back when they got paid well. With the erosion of pay & benefits, they have to lower the standards, imagine what the newest recruits look like?........you get what you pay for.......scary

In MA they make somewhat low salary in the beginning, but substantial raises come quickly and frequently after the first year or so. Also, detail pay and overtime are where cops make the real bucks (road work duty, security work, etc). Detail pay is easily $42/hour+. This is all in reference to MA only, based on what I've been told by various police officers, including a retired sergeant who taught some of my criminal law and policing classes in college.

What's it like in other states? I think you're absolutely right about bad experiences being linked with cops on the lower end of the pay grade; because I've never had a bad experience with police and like I said they make a good living where I am.

Do you ever wonder why the police are a little cautious when they pull you over?..........

It's a systemic issue though. Obviously, there is something not right going on from within..
You can't compare all weed growers to all cops... All cops are an organized group, trained with a set of rules.
You can't even compare...

Police brutality and over use of force is a systemic problem with police like pedo problems with the catholic church... It's not some vague demographic tied together by a hobby.

In this city... if you're black and outside late at night on the east side... you have reason to worry about the police. We had a young black man get shot and killed while SLEEPING in the back seat of a car.... the cop said he thought he saw him pull a gun... he was asleep the whole time..

The idea that it is a risky job so they have to pull the trigger and ask questions later for their safety is complete bullshit. Innocent people (almost always black) get shot here and the officer who shot them gets a paid suspension for a few weeks then is back on the street with a gun. It's fucked..

I agree, not all cops are bad... but there sure seems to be a hell of a lot of bad ones performing a duty that is too important to let someone with power/mental/emotional/PTSD issues perform. It kinda seem like many have some of those issues.. I think more screening is in order.
